How are you ladies addressing your RSVP''s? We are not hiring a caligrapher and I''d as soon not write out my address 75 times. Some things I thought of:

1) Fun rubber stamp?
2) Print them out on coloured lables?

But would either or both of these yield post office trouble? Is it best just to go with straightforward black and white labels? Or is that a faux pas? (I mean, do they HAVE to be handwritten? And what will happen to me if I don''t?)

Any advice or suggestions appreciated!

I haven''t gotten that far yet, but...
A friend of mine took her envelopes to a copy store and had them printed out inexpensively.
If you are having your invites printed just have them do the rsvp''s too.

Printed them out on my inkjet printer. Since you''ll end up with all of them anyway it doesn''t matter how the addresses are done :) And that meant a) I got to use a font I liked, and b) I figured out how to work the printer for envelopes, which came in handy for Christmas cards :)

We printed ours directly through our home printer. Worked VERY easily. If that hadn''t worked, we were going to buy a plain rubber stamp and stamp them all individually (and that is how we did the return address - which is required for mailing).

I had a rubber stamp made from http://www.stampsonsale.com/. I think it cost like $12 or $13. Then I bought a white stamp pad and silver embossing ink. My envelopes are dark blue, so there was no way I could print on them myself. I sent one through the mail before I did the other 175, and it made it back to me. I''ll be sending out all the invites in a few weeks, so hopefully they''ll all make it.

I printed ours. We did postcards.

We''re getting together addresses and then we''ll send out our save the dates (hopefully next week). Our printer had printed my parents'' address on the envelopes, so we don''t have to worry about that. We''ll have her do the same thing when we''re ready for the invitations/rsvp cards. For the guests'' addresses, we typed them up in a cursive font and we''ll print them on clear labels. Hopefully it will look nice.

Hi guys! Thanks for all the great suggestions! I''m trying to figure out what ON EARTH I would have done planning the wedding without you guys. I''ve learned so much!

We''re DIY''ing, so it sounds like the best options are either to print a sheet of clear labels or buy a rubber stamp. I think I''d go nuts running all those envelopes through the printer! But I love the clear label idea. Anyone have a sense how much those cost? Well, I guess I''ll go on staples website and look....

silkscreening??
sorry, the ''diy'' thing reminded me of all the silkscreened punk shirts i wore as a teen.

By the way I would get a quote from a local printer. It might be cheaper to get your address printed on them than you think. I had our return address printed on our thank yous, invites (in silver ink), and a perf done for my rsvp postcards for very little money plus they looked good. Just an idea!

Good to know, Tacori. I''ll call a couple of places this afternoon. The labels appear to come in boxes of 6000. Well, ok, 750 or 1500, but that''s still way more labels then we need. It may actually be cheaper to have a printer do it at this rate!

Make sure to tell them YOU are providing the envelopes (if you are). The quote should be cheaper. I think everything I got done was under $150 for 200 a piece. (so 400 prints and 200 perfs).

Be careful if you decide to do injet - my friend printed on the directions with an inkjet printer and included them w/ the invitation. Unfortunately, the ink SMUDGED everywhere and it looked really yucky =(

Thanks for the headsup, Rockzilla. We''ll be using a laserjet, so that part should be ok!

rockzilla, the paper they picked probably had a lot to do with that.
