Hello!

I am looking for a loose diamond for my engagement and seek your advice. I am afraid that there might risk of chipping due to the placement of a small needle right at the edge of the diamond. You will need to zoom in on the GIA certificate to see the needle. I have circled the needle placement for ease of reference.

Apart from the needle, I think this diamond has good proportions.

Thank you for any input you can give!

Best regards

The needle isn't a huge issue
I'm not a fan at all of the flat top, 60% table with a 32 degree crown angle and a ch of 12.5%.
If reasonably well cut it would be bright but not as fiery or sparky as a more well rounded combination.

Whats your budget and color/clarity preference?
The prosumers here can help you find a more balanced stone.

Thank you all for your helpful advice. I am looking for a diamond with the following stats :-

Class : D to F
Clarity: VVS2 to VS2
Carat: 2 to 2.29

I had a quick look at white flash and now considering this diamond (https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-4460727.htm), however, I have concerns that it is not eye-clean.

Any advice?

Thank you so much everyone.
Jason

Would something like this fit in your budget?

Thank you Kim for your reply, That diamond fits my budget. However, would you say it is a better choice than this one :-

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, Jason_649!
Should be eye-clean...you can contact WF for additional pictures, videos, and and further assessment to address your concerns about clarity.

If you want to play on the safer side of the tracks for the peace of mind factor, here's an F VS1 that you should check out:

Adding these G VS1 options for a bit more cost-conscious alternatives:

Oooh, that 2.03 G VS1 is pretty! You’ve got some good choices. Ask WF to compare your top 3 side by side and see which one looks best to you.

I actually like the E better--whiter and looks more likely to be eye-clean. I would ask Whiteflash about the inclusions to make sure it's eye-clean to your standards.

Dear DejaWiz and Kim,

Thank you for your replies. Whiteflash has provided me with the attached photos. I could not upload the video here.

The E diamond seems to be whiter but, to me, it seems to lack contrast making it look blend.

What do you think?

Best regard,
Jason

Given the lighting condition and environment, I think they both look amazing.
You can use a site like Imgur or YouTube to upload and post the video(s).

Hi, Jason.
They are both on par with one another and at the pinnacle of cut precision and performance.
I don't think there's a wrong choice here.
Flip a coin if you have to. :)

Jason_649, I agree--you can't go wrong with either.

I don't think the E lacks contrast. The lighting is very bright, and the E is at a different angle than the F. Did you ask them about the inclusions on both?
