Advice on Diamond for Engagement Ring

Hi everyone,

I really need your advice on which diamond to pick for my engagement ring.

option 1- 1.15ct, D colour, VS2, excellent cut diamond

option 2- 1.20 ct, D colour, SI1, excellent cut diamond
My jeweller told me that I won't see a difference in size for the 1.20 vs. the 1.15 because the dimensions are pretty much the same but I want to pick the better diamond that will sparkle the most.

Do you have images of either stone? The first one (D VS2) has proportions outside of the recommended ranges (crown of 36.5 is quite steep), and the D/SI1 has a large(ish) table. What is the jeweler asking in terms of price, and do you need a D color?

I don’t necessarily need a D colour but that is the diamond that the jeweller showed when I tried on the rings and it sparkled really well so my fiancé used it to propose. The 1.15 is currently the ring I am wearing right now.

I don’t have any pictures of the 1.20 but my jeweller has ordered it so that we can see it in person before he sets it in my ring.

Pass on both... you do not want Med blue fl in a D color diamond.
