Advice on emerald

Hey all. I'm pretty much ignorant here, though I did read the "read this first" post and I do understand. I'm looking for a 3-4 carat emerald for my bride-to-be.

I hope it's OK to link to external sites...? I promise I'm not a shill. I like this one:
https://www.gemsny.com/loose-emerald/3.61-Carat-Oval-Emerald-E3264OV/#horizontalTab

Thoughts? Quality of the gem, pricing, anything you think might be relevant.

I found a previous thread here, a few years old, referencing this vendor (about a sapphire) . I made sure to also check out recommended vendors, including Pala, AJS, Africagems, and Swala. Didn't see any large carat emeralds there. I'm open to going elsewhere.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Upside: Nice color, weight and clarity.

Downside: For the price I'd expect a better cut and also less enhancement. You chose a GIA F2. The seller have other F1 stones (minor enhancement) I'd go for the F1 stones. In my experience with emeralds, the brightness of the stone changes over time when oiled. Better untreated but if not, I will expect only minor enhancement with your budget and only traditional oil fillers. I'd avoid resin fillers.

Congratulations, btw!

Thank you (for congrats) and thank you for the info.

What do you mean better cut? I thought it was a Brilliant cut and that's... Desirable?

How do you know which enhancements were made? I see the F2...

So try for F1... I realize this is a loaded question, but which would you choose and why? Given that you now know what color I like...

I was checking the symmetry of the stone on the photo taken on the side. It may not be bothersome face up but precision cut or a nice symmetry would be nice if you're spending a chunk of money. But I also understand that for 3 carats up, most sellers would consider weight retention.

With your budget, personally I'd look at Colombian emeralds first for a well cut (no window) minor oil/insignificant enhancement Muzo or Cunas stone. You can easily find a beautiful Colombian emerald with your budget. Second choice would be Brazilian and the new Ethiopian find, then finally Zambian emeralds (which I find tend to be less vivid and more dull than the others, in general). Try George at IEEX. He found a beautiful emerald for another PSer last year and he has some amazing stones right from the source.

You should also check out Embassy Emeralds, and Gary at Finewater Gems to see what they have in offline inventory.

You can also try Nomads and Constantin Wild too. They don't have as much of an online presence but are well regarded in the trade, I believe Nomads is one of the suppliers to Tiffany's.

I like to add my favorite seller with rare Sandawana emeralds. I have seen a 0.10 carat of those once and it was sooo not-of-this-world-green that I can hardly imagine how green a 2 carat will be. Some are without any treatment at all, not even oil: https://www.wildfishgems.com/emerald

Thank you everyone for your responses. Clearly I have much to learn. Fortunately I have plenty of time
