Advice on opals please?

I haven''t posted for a while, I know... I''ve been trying to go on a "jewelry diet" -lol- not too successfully, I might add!

At any rate, I was just browsing through eBay and came across some opal pendants that do look gorgeous in the pictures. Is it possible for you knwledgeable folks to take a look and advise me whether it''s worth bidding on any of these and what you would consider a fair price?

1. Here is the first one, and I like this the best, I think:

2. This one caught my eye because the seller claims it''s a black opal, and from what I have read, probably worth something:

3. This one aroused my curiosity because I have never heard of a Mandarin Opal before, and it does look very nice:

Well, I guess no one wants to take a risk and help me out on an eBay auction and I can undertstand that...

I finally decided to bid on the black opal as long as the price remains low as I can''t afford to pay too much.

sorry don''t know enough about the them and the market to advise.
Be careful there are a lot of doublets and triplets out there as well as lab stones.
