Hi all,
I have a couple of gem stones heading to me and I've been looking for readymade settings feverishly. I found this one from diamond zone/ ivy and rose vintage and would love to know what you think. I'm just slightly worried my stones are too small at 6mm so don't know if this setting will enhance the size and shine of them or not. Do share your other setting ideas for smaller stones:)
If someone already has this setting or something similar please share pics!

Would also appreciate your help to decide tsavourite or tourmaline for this one (both 6mm). Here go the pics!

Hi, Gemobsessed! I think that is a very pretty setting. They have a big selection and that very ring is in my top three for their site. I think either stone would look pretty in that setting. I also love rose gold, which might look great with your minty green stone. Enjoy!

I second minty stone in that setting in rose gold!

For small stones I personally think they need all the help they can get with extra diamond melee if it's within budget.

I have a 0.7 carat emerald with a double halo and it REALLY helps the stone stand out!

IMG_3748.jpg Hi both,

Thanks so much for your kind replies. The only problem is the tsavourite isn't minty. Otherwise that was exactly my thought!
Here is another pic

What kind of gold do you wear a lot normally? That colour will go beautifully with YG or WG depending on what your other jewellery is like or how you like to match things!

Personally I feel like that green plus YG is a bit more bold and I prefer that but that's just me!

WG is a bit safer imo but no less lovely! My emerald was in WG!

I just wear white gold so far ! But I've never had such a green stone before so I'm trying to be more open minded :Up_to_something2:

You’re right, it’s not minty! That green is strong enough to pull off yellow gold. It would look great in white gold too. I love the strong color! You have beautiful stones!

Thank you so much for your kind words :)

Green is a bit puzzling for me because I know it would look good in yellow gold but alas I don't have any yellow gold in my collection at all. I'm so safe I always buy white gold. And now I'm flirting with the idea of rose gold but ONLY for my pink stones:???:

So I emailed diamondzone about the pricing for the setting. They quoted me a much higher number than what it says on etsy and eBay both. Has that happened to anyone ?

That happened to me and it was confusing. I think they have some in-stock settings and some antique finds that are unique. They can custom make them if the item sells, but then you are paying the custom price. But weren’t you looking at one of their standard designs?

Missy, yes it was a standard setting. Cost for that in my ring is 315 usd. On top they want to charge another 228 usd just for setting the stone and changing current square casing into a prong or round casing which isn't even a hard point. That's another 70% of the original cost! What actually troubled me is that they weren't clear about these breakouts from the start and made it seem like it was a minor modification to them ( which it is usually for my jewellers ).

I think I'll have to let this one go :(
