I was looking at a few sapphire rings and came across 2 that I really liked. However, I thought it was odd because they are both around 9mm x 7mm ovals, but 1 was 1.24ct and the other 1.6ct. Would the 1.24ct one be too shallow a cut to show any sparkle?

Both also have quite large windows, but the lighter one seems to be less severe as I can see less of the ring setting below. Which of the 2 would be preferable? Or are they both complete busts?
They are both eye clean so I'm not too concerned about the inclusions.

The windows could have been minimised with baskets but the rings are without, unfortunately.

Erm I think you could find better because these wouldn't be sparkly IRL except round the edges.

the bottom one has less window but honestly i have a ring with a window and it really bothers me
id keep looking

Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll keep looking. Colored gemstones are so much more difficult. Sometimes I wish they had set standards like diamonds so it's easier to review based on the stats!

Hmmmm, neither.
Both sapphires have huge windows, that means seeing straight through to the skin of your finger. Neither has a vivid enough colour to be “forgiving” in this regard and neither is well cut so you won’t get much sparkle.
Neither because the prong work is awful, neither sapphire is set evenly.
Neither, the rings look “machine made”, the diamond melee miligrain is like blobs.
Finally, what certificates do these sapphires come with?
The world these days is full of lab grown gemstones. That in itself isn’t a problem because they are almost identical to natural BUT the price is very different.
Lab sapphires are like $1 a carat, whereas a natural, untreated sapphire is more like $1,000 plus a carat.
Let us know your budget and we can help look for a beautiful sapphire or even Spinel if you’re loving the pastel pink / mauve tone. The lighter the tone, the more important a great cut is. Don’t waste your money on sub standard sapphires / cutting/ ring setting.
