Hi,

I've decided to commemorate our 10 year anniversary with an eternity band, this is most probably going to be the only significant ring I will have for a forseable future, maybe forever, SO I'd like it to scratch my bling itch for a long time.

The stone size im looking at is 0.20ct-0.40ct, I realize the span is quite large in terms of how the ring will feel on my size 4,5 finger.

I'm open to having WF or BGD make the ring as well, but I've seen so many CVB and David Klass pieces that I feel speak to me and would be great designers for a piece like in the photos.

Anyway, I'd like some input from members who have "larger" eternity bands (or haven't eternity bands, all input is welcome), what are the do's and dont's? What should I think of? For example, I'd love a good shared-prong setting, but I'm worried about chipping the stones, and I'm in Europe so it'll be an extra-expensive story to have the ring potentially repaired, so I have been looking at alternatives, like the type of setting in the images below, what do you guys think? Or is shared prong worth the risk?

I'd LOVE a row of ACA's or BGD ideals, if I were to go with a signature cut I'd have to get a minimum stone size of 0.30ct, and have a designer like CVB make the ring.

The largest eternity in the first images has 0,40ct stones, the eternities in the second picture has 0,15ct stones

I have .10 in shared prong setting and I havnt chipped a diamond in 10 years!
Mine is from WF and I love it.

Do you plan on stacking the band with other bands? If so, you might think about having enough metal on the sides so that
the diamonds don't hurt any bands stacked with it. The ring with .4s you posted above looks like it has enough metal on the
sides to protect other bands.

Hi there, I did the same thing for an anniversary. I chose WF to make it with their ACA signature melee of .25 stones in a custom open basket (inspired by Tiffany). If I went above .25 I would have needed to buy individually certified stones and that added quite some cost.
My stones are F/G VS quality and my ring size is 3.5 so the ctw is 3.75. It’s substantial enough to wear on its own or with my ACA 2.3 ct engagement ring. I’m attaching a few pictures for you!

These are WF ACA 0.20 melee on a size 4.75 finger. Six stones cover the top of my finger and would probably be ok if they went between my fingers (I decided against an eternity because I don't like the feel of anything bulky between my fingers). It is super comfortable and super sparkly. I'm in the UK buying from WF was easy.

I don’t think I will stack this with other rings, but if I do it will be with my plain gold band or a thinner pave band.

I was also thinking of protecting the girdles from chipping, somehow going with that setting I’ll have an easier time to MAYBE not do a full eternity, not sure why I’m against a 3/4 eternity in a regular shared prong setting, versus this band or bezel set.

I love your set! Such a classic and clean look.

They band looks very substantial in a good way, I think that is the look I’m going for size wise, having 4,5 size finger I might need something like 0,3 to achieve that?

Thank you for your picture, such a pretty stack. I was actually looking at a bezel setting, with milgrained edges and maybe have the diamonds set 3/4 around the ring, and have the diamondless circles engraved, so it wouldn’t be so obvious that the ring wasn’t full eternity. Have you tried a setting with prongs?

Thank you! I have a 5 stone ring with .3 diamonds across (from BGD. These are signature certified stones). I attached pics worn as my RHR and added the eternity band on top of it so you can see the comparison and judge for yourself. I went back and forth myself but figured the additional cost wasn’t worth it when I already had another .3 stone ring. It gives very good coverage at that size!098F99A8-731D-4ACD-A027-ADC9D570217D.jpeg098F99A8-731D-4ACD-A027-ADC9D570217D.jpeg

I'm looking into wedding bands and am also considering a bezel setting, RB, 3/4 eternity. I'm interested to know if you went through with your idea? Never thought to do the diamondless circles engraved- sounds super neat!!!

Only chiming in to say that I am getting an eternity ring that alternates diamonds and diamond cut sapphires. The diamonds are F-G ideal cut VS-1. The sapphires will be “ juicy” looking. It’s being made now so of course I have no advice for you. At first I was going with diamonds only, but on a whim I decided that it will certainly be more unusual. Plus it still goes with everything I wear. Consider Brilliantly Engaged.

I went through a similar journey this year. So many bands look gorgeous online! I realized quickly these bands get THICK. I have smaller hands, and it was causing dry, irritated, peeling skin on the inside of the adjoining fingers from the rubbing.

I ended up switching to a smaller band that sit closer to the skin and spent the rest of the budget on other pieces. Since I wanted something for everyday wear, comfort ended up mattering more than bling. If it’d been just a special occasion ring I wouldn’t have minded as much.

The style ring matters too, rings with a lot of prongs irritated my skin more than single shared prongs, and those with a bezel bothered me the least.

All this to say, try on bands as much as you can. Then try doing daily life stuff with it on to see if you mind it. I realized quickly that pulling my hair back into a ponytail with an eternity ring caused my a few hairs to get stuck and pull, and it was scratching up my purse straps when I picked it up. Hence, I opted for a half eternity to have a smooth underside :)
