I’m signing off at #19!

Hello everyone! I hardly ever post, but trust me I follow this forum regularly. I’m chiming in today to share that I’m engaged! SO proposed this past weekend. I have no ring yet to post since we want to build the ring together. Exciting times ahead!

Even though I was not an active member on this board, it was comforting to know that many other ladies share the joys, frustrations, and impatience of being an LIW. Good luck to everyone! I wish all of you happiness and lots of love.

Congrats, BB! Please do post your story!

Do you have any ideas so far about what kind of ring you'd like to build? Curiosity is killing me!

Thank you for the well wishes. Sorry for not posting the details earlier. It was a quick sign on and go. I also love to read other ladies’ sweet stories, so of course I won’t leave y’all hanging!

Background:
We started dating each other in 2002. A lot of life has happened since.

The proposal:

Bubs spent several weeks preparing a mystery trip. Every time I entered the computer room he would turn the screen or block it with his body so I wouldn’t see what he was doing. Cute! My birthday is coming up in a few days, so I thought he was planning an early birthday present. Once in a while, the thought that he might propose during the trip would enter my mind, but I waved it off as wishful thinking.

The destination, which he left for me to figure out during the drive, was the Finger Lakes area in New York. Absolutely beautiful place! We hiked along waterfalls and explored trails around the area. He popped the question just after we finished trekking up one particularly steep incline, so I was proposed to while huffing, puffing, and sweating bullets. Indeed, I felt like a beauty queen.

It was so hard to come back after that weekend!

The ring:

The ring has gone through so many iterations since I first found Pricescope. At the start, I was set on a romantic antique-style setting. I had eyes only for Tacori. Successively, I entered an Asscher cut phase, then an eternity band era, until the AVC was introduced and I went gaga for that! LOL.

One style that has remained on the list throughout is the six-prong round solitaire. It’s the most basic style, but now that my Pricescope-induced sparkle madness has calmed, Bubba and I feel most at home with having the steady solitaire symbolize our intent to marry. I will definitely come and show you the ring once we have it!

Thank you again for sharing in the excitement!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

What a very sweet story! Congrats on your engagement!
