Air Ships, Drones, environmental mining

I wonder what the "airships" look like.

And man, that's a lot of kimberlite pipes!

Yes, interesting. I see pros and cons.

My biggest question is, who is going to secure the nuclear waste once De Beers moves on? (And they will eventually move on).

Canadian NWMO:

It sounds good. But the part about "post closure monitoring" still concerns me. Mainly because I, like many scientists, have serious doubts about the future stability of our societies, and even the survival of humans. Many are saying we have a scant few decades left, if that, even if the current international crises pass.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but I'd like to see the remaining species have a chance to live after we are gone.

I would think avoiding complacency is the key to post closure monitoring success...for any nuclear generating country in the world. Lots of potential energy left in spent fuel!

This seems like a fair and balanced article about Canada's current plans:

Plenty of species will remain after we are gone. And they will thrive. They are probably cheering for our demise.
