Can i please just start the weekend off like that????
So, Friday night E (the boyf) goes out to a bacholor party. I get to enjoy watching wedding **** AND eating the rest of my B&J frozen yogurt half baked ice cream *yum*
Saturday he comes home and since i am SUCH and awesome gf i let him sleep for another couple hours becuase no body likes a hang over while shopping (we needed to get a present for a wedding). So he finally wakes up and we make an deal that i get to drag him through jewelry stores AND Try on rings. He even has to look for himself. SCORE!
So that afternoon we''re shopping, looking at styles (and him being flabberghasted by a 45,000 ROCK, no band) getting ideas even though "technically" we already have a ring (we have my old gma''s ring set, but it needs to be fixed). So we go into one store after looking at a few (and fortunately not be accosted by anyone) and actually start pulling out styles to look at. E keeps on pulling out styles that are WELL above our price range (honestly, we''re at a 2k budget here)! i tried on TWO rings (i know, i know, a whole TWO. but that''s a lot in E standards). THHEEEN we got to look at a ring under a microscope, which i have never done before, so E agreed to do so. it was awesome, needless to say. and our "sales rep" (maybe about a year or two under us) was fantastic, gave us the low down on whats better for the money, what he suggests with my grandma''s ring, etc, and spoke to E in terms that didnt freak him out AND got him thinking about purchasing ANNNDDD upgrading in 20 years lol!
Once we left the store we started talking more about maybe only using the diamond from my gma''s ring, and buying a new setting, or buying a whole new ring all together (e likes the idea of protected purchase, upgrade, etc). E was super impressed with not only the sales guy but also the info that he learned. (much better than the psycho "try this on, buy her this" sales people
)
Only bummer about that trip was that i found out he hasnt even mentioned the idea of getting married to his parents
. I guess im just so used to telling mine everything that it seemed weird that he hasn''t shared this with them. Any body else experience this?
Sunday rolls around and we get ready for the wedding, and i think due to the *ahem* bottle of wine i drank the night before i was pretty much in a pissy mood all day, also realizing that after a long wedding we were supposed to go to his parents afterwards for dinner (not that i dont love visiting, i just didnt want to go after a wedding). AND my dress didnt fit well in the top, so i kept on having to adjust so i wouldnt have flashed the grandma''s in the crowd.
E asked me to dance at the wedding which is shocking (he doesnt dance), and is making me believe that he wants to learn how to dance. Everytime we''re at something where there is dancing, he claims to not dance, but always drags ME out on the floor. weird!
So i start getting out of my pissy mood (thank you, saftey pins!) and we enjoy ourselves at the wedding. I dont like being left alone every time E goes out to smoke so he starts to head out with one of the GroomsM and i asked to come along and he said "uh... not this time". HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Let me mention that this GM is already married, super sweet and only talks the BEST about being married to the one you love
So i talk to the Groom and he goes "J, i am so glad you made me" (i respond) "You know, E loves you, its going to be your wedding soon. I just know. He loves you so much...Plus, you are way more beautiful than his other girlfriends"
(E''s previous gf was a super skinny/fit girl with long curly hair. Me, not so much, but i got more body, thats for sure!
)
So then after the reception a bunch of us (including the bride and groom??) go out for eats and drinks, and the groom (with the GM that E talked to sitting next to me) starts saying "Dont worry, eric is going to ask you for sure. there is NO doubt about it" all the while the GM saying "Dude...let it happen don''t say it" like he was about to spill my birthday present... (!!!!
!!!)
too funny.
At the end of the night i tell E that if he wants to go the route of getting a new setting and using gma''s stone, or buying a whole new set, i am behind it 100%. and as i was getting ready for bed (him setting up the fan for me becuase it was 9999999 degrees in our room - no joke) and i said "oh honey, whiteflash and good ol gold"
E'' "what?"
me "you''ll want to look at white flash for ring styles"
LOL im such a dork.
Last two thoughts...
My dream last night was our wedding!!! it was themed christmas/nutcracker/arabian nights (????) and then towards the end of the wedding eric read aloud a poem of all the reasons why he loved me
- via a children''s book. but i was still crying in my dream! and then a conga-train of toys went around, and someone pushed someone''s grandma out of the way. how rude!
and finally, i forgot to look and see if he checked out whiteflash or not
*phew*
