I haven''t posted too frequently lately, but wanted to give an update.
I decided I wanted a cushion, not an emerald cut. My bf and I searched together at a local B&M for the right one. After seeing about 10 different ones I found one I LOVE. What made me really love it was the setting we dropped it in. It''s similar on top to this http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_58-877_build.asp?module=setting but I wanted cushions as the two larger side stones. The stone is very rectangular and looked fabulous in the setting. Well I thought I passed everything onto my bf, but the jeweler starting asking questions about the center stone height, etc and my bf wanted to consult me....turns out the total price is a little more than expected (see post in Rocky Talk) and I emailed jeweler asking to see cheaper side stones this weekend. Current ones are approx 0.7 tcw for $1600 and I''m sure we can find less expensive ones (I''m pretty sure they are G VS2 and I"d be willing to go to H and Si1 or Si2).
The good news is once we decide on side stones it should only take about 2 weeks until the ring is finished. My mother has suggested (and I passed along to my bf) that it would be great it I had my ring when I went home for my little brother''s graduation at the end of May. I live in NJ, "home" is SC.
So...hopefully it''s a matter of weeks now. YAY!!!
