Alyeska's 1.9ct pear e-ring

Here is my new e-ring and wedding band.

It just came in from Fed-Ex yesterday, so I had to post some pics. I have been reading PS posts for months and you've all been sooo helpful in the buying process, thank you!!!





The diamond is a (shallow) 1.9ct I, SI2 GIA Cert, set in a basic 14k white gold tiffany setting. Although the cut was 'good' and the depth and table %'s were not ideal, I thought it was sparkley and gorgeous when I saw it! Of course it is hard to get any photos to do it justice.

This is just a temporary setting for it as I hope to get it into a pave halo setting soon; like this set by Javda in CA: http://www.javda.com/jewelrydetail.asp?tid=5749

Thank you! It took me a very long time to pick out a diamond, I'm talking literally years here! LOL I have been the gf, then would-be fi, I was supposed to choose one then and never could find the right one or decide on what I wanted. I have since been engaged and married with still no ring! I am so happy I have the first step down, the diamond, next the setting.

I agree, the first photo was taken at the jewelers and the others at home, so both with interior lights, but definitely different types.

Thank you for the compliment. I was going for something that looked bigger than it was in actual weight: pear cut, in a halo setting, and this pear has dimensions of 11.26 x 7.54, which is pretty flat for a 1.9ct, oh and the small finger helps too! LOL

Thank you both! I do like it in this simple setting much more than I thought I would. When I purchased the diamond I asked that it be put in a basic, economy-type setting just so it can be worn for now, until I get the actual setting I want. I didn't expect the ring to look this nice... maybe I'll leave it in a little longer.

Thank you! I was trying to get the most finger coverage for my buck. Value doesn't seem like the right term here, we need a good PS word for that I think. Like a finger coverage to purchase price ratio...

No, I don't mind at all. This set is a size 4.5 currently. If I leave it in this set for any length of time, I think I may have the e-ring sized down to a 4.25/4 as it spins on my finger more than I prefer.

It is extremely eye clean, with only one small crystal visible: looks like a small bubble.

My favorite thing about it, is that it has a mesmorizing 3D effect when you look into it face down. It appears to turn into this large looking hole that goes down forever. I probably am not the best at describing it... Almost like a magnifying glass or kaleidescope.
