Oh boy..am i turning into a crazy bridezilla???? I haven''t even been engaged for one month but...we''ve booked the ceremony location, booked the restaurant, have our MC''s, our wedding party, florist, photographer, videographer, dj AND..i think i''ve found my dress!!!!!!!! We are getting married at a location called Hycroft Manor which is a beautiful heritage building in Vancouver BC and my g/f dragged me dress shopping just for fun this past weekend and I FOUND IT!! I absolutely cannot believe it..i almost feel silly that we''ve got so many things planned out and we still have over a year before the wedding!!! I know there is still much to do, but i feel like the major things are done!! My FI thinks i''m nuts!! He''s still reeling from the engagement and he expected some down time!! hahah

What do you think of the dress?? I think it will suit the location? I''ll attach pictures of the ceremony venue. The dress is not this colour, but will be the pearl with cafe accent sash instead. I hope to match the bridesmaid dresses to this colour.

Holy crap...you are up there w/some of the other "Super Brides" on here!

I am soooo jealous! I''ve also only been engaged a month, and aside from buying some Hawaiian shirt candles for STD''s and gathering shells from my classroom, I am poop outta luck on the planning!

Your dress is gorgeous and the site is to die for! Congrats on getting so much accomplished! Keep us posted on how everything else goes!

Well, you are just super organized and on top of things, which is great. You might want to alter some things later, but for now, you really have all the main issues dealt with. You just seem to be hitting the stride, which is wonderful for you. You might feel like you are sitting around twiddling thumbs, but you will not be.

I love the dress and the venue and think the dress does suit the venue for sure.

PS a bridezilla is typical someone who is acting like a bitch, not someone who is super organized and getting things done quickly. I tend to think of one as a bride who is nasty to all around her, and who really does not care about anyone else's feelings or opinions, and makes everything about her and her big day...

Nah, you''re not nuts or Bridezilla, you''re just organized and eager to check things off your list! Your venue looks lovely and I really love the dress you chose!

Funny, DH and I were completely opposite of you and your FI when we got engaged. I wanted to enjoy a month of two of just being engaged and browsing, whereas he was almost immediately ready to pick a date, location, etc.! We kind of drove each other nuts about it for a month or two, because I am a super-researcher and I must know every detail before I make a decision, while he is super decisive and almost impulsive about choices he makes. Somehow we got through it all just fine!

I think your dress goes perfectly with that location. Congrats on getting so many things checked off your list - it will definitely save you some ''worries'' as you get closer.

Wow that was quick!

The only note of caution I would add is that with so long till your wedding you may well change your mind on somethings.

I started a scrapbook when I first got engaged and when I look back through it I can see that I have really changed my mind on everything from colours to dress shape over the last 8 months as my ideas have evolved.

I''m like Monarch in that I need to research everything down to the last detail. I also enjoy the process being slow and drawn out, but then my sister would want everything done by the next day, so horses for courses...

Wow, that''s great! That location is amazing
but....

I would maybe wait on some things like the dress or your colours...Just like Pandora, there were a lot of things i had picked out early in the engagement (but luckily didn''t purchase or go forward with) that i totally changed my mind about several months later. If you are likely to do this (indecisive in general) think about some things for a few months. It is easy to get really excited when you first get engaged and you''re on a high where everything seems wonderful. Allow some time to digest the decisions..

Thank you everybody for the tips!!

I just feel weird! haha I''ve already changed my mind about the flowers after i saw the dress and the ceremony venue. I think once i get the dress ordered i''m going to relax and enjoy being engaged and thing of the small things in the coming year! I know it probably seems very very early to order the dress, but i''m completely in love with it..and i think i love the feeling it gives me. As soon as i put it on, i could see myself at the ceremony venue.

ps. yes..i completely know what a ''typical'' bridezilla is..i was a bridesmaid for one of them last year! I''m just hoping i don''t turn into that becuase of my craziness to get everything done ahead of time! Hopefully I will only change my mind about the small things which i will leave until next year!

I think one of the reasons i was paranoid about booking the ceremony and banquet venue early is that being asian..and having a chinese banquet...next year 08 (lucky) is crazy! When i booked a few weeks ago..August 08 was almost completely booked for most of the bigger restaurants and some of the ceremony locations were already filling up and I knew i wanted August/September so i was feeling quite desperate! :)

Wow you have a lot done! I got my wedding dress about 14 months before the wedding. I still love it. Sometimes you just know.

Nah! There''s nothing wrong with being super organized and excited about your wedding! If you know exactly what you want then I say just go ahead and book it! why wait! (also beacuse i''m just like you and booked my location and photographer about two weeks after I got engaged!)

I also just bought my dres! see my thread...and I''m getting married in May of next year. I went to a couple of places an dhad planned to go more, but I kept coming back to this dress and I wa slike forget it! this is the one!

don''t feel silly! enjoy it! and btw, your location and dress look beautiful!!!!
