After several requests (thanks, all!), here is Amelia both before I reset her and after.
When I first saw her, I was drawn to the unique, NSEW diamond-shaped bands in which she was set. Nothing super fancy, just interesting! I had never seen anything like it! After stalking the set for about 2 years, and after re-connecting with the man who would become my husband, I pulled the trigger.
The setting is custom, new, platinum (unmarked), and set with MRB, full-cut diamonds (appx .30 TCW between both bands). When I first got the set, Amelia was a 1.28 carat stone stuffed into a 4-prong 14kwg head designed for a stone of no more than 1 carat in weight (eeek!). She also has some chipping around her knife-edge girdle (contributing to a lower clarity rating based predominantly on historic damage -- internally, VS at worst), so I was a bit worried about further contributing to the damage, based on the head she was in.
After toying with the idea of re-cutting to resolve some of the damage/symmetry issues, I decided instead to change out the head to a 6-prong platinum head (Stuller item 72361 -- ROUND 6-PRONG LOW PEG SETTING) to protect the existing nibbles and give a better balanced look to the set.
When I got her back from the jeweler (Five Star Jewelry Brokers & Gemologists here in Austin, TX), I could hardly believe it was the same stone!!! Where Amelia had been softly radiant before (O/P color, faint fluorescence), suddenly she was sparkly and fiery all over the place! What a difference just a re-set can make!

And, yes, the diamond shapes go all the way around (this is the wee head she was in before):
