The reason dogs have so many friends is because they wag their tails instead of their tongues-unknown
I read this and thought I would share...I liked it very much.

That''s cute

most excellent indeed.
thanks for sharing

It''s a mistake to assume dogs wag their tails only expressing joy, it might be a sign of an aggression as well.

Just a warning.

Boy, i am annoying...

hehe a valid point...dogs can be very unpredictable actually!

Since this is a dog thread I have to share LOL

So the day after I was engaged, I was lying on the couch reading and the afternoon sun rays made reflections off my e-ring. I noticed because my dog started trying to get the little reflections and he would bump his little nose and paws on the floor over and over. Then he looked up at me and my ring and sat there and stared at my ring for about 5 mins and went back to chasing the reflections. It was so funny and so cute! He repeated this process all afternoon LOL Anyone else''s pooch do that?

Not mine. Labs are too busy with other things to bother with rings and things that sparkle. They have to manage animals outside the window and, in new, buildings, they have to poke their heads into every room while being pulled to their destinations :-).

Your dog sounds cute (and manageable), though!

True - but certainly not when the butt wags too! My male has lift off when he is thrilled.

Anyone else''s dog have hula hips when they are joyous?

AGBF Thank you but I''m afraid he thinks its a toy or worse something yummy to eat!

Fire and Ice, I have a beagle who achieves lift off, hula hips, pretty much if you can picture the Snoopy scenes in Peanuts comic strips where he has all those little motion marks around him while jumping up and down or dancing or whatever...that''s my doggie. He''s not the calmest little boy, but we love it!

If dogs could talk, it would take a lot of the fun out of owning one. ~Andy Rooney

Fire&ice left out important info that her dog has no tail

Zuel (whose history in photos is all over PS) waggles his entire body, sadly he lacks his tail as well. When he gets exctied he turns into a giant wiggle worm and his whole body neck to rump wags...its quite cute as long as you stay on your feet.

I found the quote becuase I spoke out of turn the other day and was trying to find a way to put it better then my own words will allow.
We need more puppy threads!

I need to get a video of "Tummy Tax". Our dogs when they see you are going to walk past them through a vestibule or doorway will lay down and show their bellys. They block your path until they have had their tummies rubbed, even if you were just playing with them or petting them. Shameless. Anyway we have taken to calling it tummy tax...does anyone else have a dog who does this?

My dog turns his butt (well I guess it's his back...lower back) to anyone who is sitting down so he can get it scratched. That's the 2nd most embarassing thing he does. He's a big dog and likes to run at you and plant his nose in unwelcomed areas. That's the first.

I took my houseguests for a drive to Middleburg, Virginia and we drove on some, "Virginia By-ways". Instead of just seeing a couple of horses or so in a yard, we saw lots of horses and a lot of cows. Some of the horses were lying down, relaxing, and one horse lay down on his back with all his feet in the air and scratched his back on the ground. I am used to seeing my dog do that (and have seen other people's dogs and cats do it.) I had never seen a horse do it before. It was adorable!

I know. I don't get out much. :-)
