apparently my increased planning efforts have resulted in nightmares. last night, after meeting with the second photographer, i had a nightmare that our wedding overlapped with someone else''s and was much earlier/sooner than we expected, so we were totally unprepared. it was supposed to be just a shower, but then it turned into the wedding, and i was totally panicked because we hadn''t moved money into the checking account to pay the vendors and i didn''t have the necessary undergarments for my dress, but instead was wearing black underwear! there were all these people from another wedding running around while we were trying to get ready, and i kept trying to explain to my best friend and my sister where they should go to get spanx, but nowhere was open. it was awful.
anyone else have wedding nightmares??

Yes!!! I definitley do! Two nights ago had the WORST one yet ! I had a dream that on my wedding day, my make-up wasn''t done, my hair hadn''t been touched and that I was wearing a bright pink and black bra under my dress that you could totally see. I was standing at the back of the church, freaking out and everyone was pushing me to go down the aisle. Then, after the ceremony, I found a 16-year-old guest and arranged for her to do my hair in the 2 hours we had before cocktail hour after I ran to Target to get make-up for myself. It was a nightmare... I even woke FI up in the middle of the night to tell him about it.

Another one that I had a week, or so, ago was that my MOH refused to walk down the aisle because she disagreed with all that the Catholic church stood for and had never told me this before. And there have been at least a few more...

I don''t think I can take 10 more months of these either!! AHHH!!!

There was another thread a few months ago about wedding nightmares. I thought they were SO funny. I haven''t had any yet...but there''s still 9 months to go. I''ll try to find that thread.

I''ve been having all sorts of weird and crazy dreams, and a few nightmares thrown in as well. I blame it not only on the wedding planning but the fact that I''m also trying to find a job. My body is always so tired in the morning because I''m pretty sure I''ve been tossing and turning more than usual, and because I''m thinking about all this wedding and job stuff, I can''t get my mind to shut off at night either so I''ve not been getting enough sleep! I''m going insane over here!

glad i''m not the only one, though i wouldn''t wish it on anyone else!

CJ -- thanks for the liink. my dream also involved Target -- there was a big argument about whether Target would have spanx or something like spanx and what its hours were. oy.

PJ -- i have put off looking for a job for that reason. i am already exhausted enough as it is. mornings suck.

OMG, i had one a few days ago! I just started planning, got engaged new years eve, and I think we finally found a place for end of september. Everyone''s telling me I''m nuts to try to do it in such a short period of time, and I think it really got to me. The other night, I dreamed that we end up renting this really crappy and dirty place, it was almost like I walked in and people were there having food, and someone said, this is your wedding!!! I couldnt believe it....and i think we ran out of food, and then the "caterer/delivery guy" came to take more food order, and was asking for more money...the whole thing was just terrifying!! i dont even remember if I was wearing a wedding gown or not! i just remember looking around and seeing how everything was so dirty....and keeping saying to myself "i cant believe this is my wedding...."

This is so crazy that you started this thread because I just had my first wedding nightmare earlier this week. My mom has been out of town so I''ve been annoyed that I can''t finalize some things that I''m anxious about, and I think this is what caused the nightmare. Mine was that we were checking out a reception venue, I think, and my mom said "let''s do it, this is the place." So I agreed but then it was like the wedding was happening right then and there. At first I was OK with it, and then I started getting really upset because so many people were missing, and we weren''t prepared and it was horrible. Then the dream went off in another really weird direction that I can''t even describe, but it was horrible! One good thing about my nightmare is that it pretty much convinced me that I don''t want to elope (which I''ve been thinking about doing, a LOT) because my main reason for being upset was that we were missing people that we loved/cared about.

I had them, but I''ve been married 4 months and I''m STILL having them. It''s like those dreams about showing up naked to class years after you stopped going to class! I mean, there''s NOTHING I can do to change the wedding and yet I''m still having nightmares about things that never happened, like the groom showing up wearing the wrong thing, etc.... It''s stressing me out and I can''t do anything about it.

That is so crazy! So much for the hopes that they''ll subside, or go away after the wedding!

I had my first nightmare earlier this week as well. Even though I''ve not ordered or committed to invitations yet (I''ve only ordered a sample) I had a nightmare that they came in in the wrong color, and the were super expensive and I couldn''t send them back....

That''s horrifying! I do still have law school exam dreams though. All the time. And I graduated in 2004!

It seems like despite all our efforts and agonizing about preparation, we are all terrified of being rushed or unprepared.

I''ve had a couple, but the one I had the other night was pretty funny. I was attending a wedding, sitting with my dad, and all of a sudden the groom walked in and it was my FI. They were like, surprise! it''s your wedding! So I was supposed to get up and walk down the aisle, but I was so upset that my dress wasn''t there. It really didn''t make sense.

Yeah, I think it takes a long while for them to subside because you put so much effort into the wedding planning and it takes a while to get the stress out of your system. I hope that by my first anniversary I will no longer be having nightmares about the wrong flowers or groomsmen not showing up, but just don''t expect it to stop right away!
