Andrew Firestone???

I am just curious...what does everyone think about the former bachelor, Andrew Firestone? I saw on the news recently that the Firestone family is selling the vineyard they have in Los Olivos- which is where Andrew Firestone took Jen Scheft home to meet his family on the Bachelor. They are moving their wine interests up to Paso Robles. The people that are taking over the land will continue to market the wine under the Firestone name though.

I am not a Bachelor junkie but that season, I was hooked. I actually met Andrew Firestone the last time I was in Los Olivos in November. He is much smaller (petite) than I imagined but he was very nice and very hospitable to us. He was the one serving us our wine tasting...which really felt surreal. I kept looking at him thinking I saw you on TV and you are right in front of me and completely normal (at least as far as I could tell!)

. I couldn''t bring myself to ask for a picture with him although I wanted to. They had a bunch of their family history that you can see if you tour the vineyard. They have rubbed heels with many a famous person! He is now engaged to this model Ivana who is very pretty. Thoughts? Comments?

I''m mostly a lurker but your post caught my eye because Andrew Firestone went to my high school. Younger (not by much!!! heh heh) than me so I didn''t know him, but recently I visited my parents'' house and picked up an old school directory and there he was.

Totally doesn''t really answer your post, but just a little tidbit about him. He seemed nice on the show.

Oh wow Matildawong...I bet that must be even more surreal for you. I have often wondered what it must be like to go to school with someone that ends up becoming famous later on in life. Meeting him was so strange...he seemed so large, figuratively and literally, on the show. When I saw he was engaged to this woman Ivana, it seemed a bit odd to me as in a lot of the pictures I saw of them together initally, he did not look happy but more like he found someone to fulfuill the role of his wife...I can''t explain it. More recently he looks happy but they seem like a funny match. In the end, I only wish happiness for any couple that is together...I just got to thinking about it the other day when I read they were selling their wine interests in Los Olivos. Los Olivos is one of my most favorite places to escape. Oh well...funny how life works out at times isn''t it? I hope you have a wonderful day!

I vaguely remember him from The Bachelor. I was so upset to hear he and Jen didn''t work out. She seemed so sweet and he was rather likeable as well.

It must have been so weird meeting him in person! Did you get to meet his family as well? His mother seemed like such an elegant and self-possesed lady on the show.

I too was sad that things did not work out between him and Jen. She does seem very sweet which is why in observing his behavior with this new girl, he seems like he''s just trying to get married, if that makes sense...nothing against him. From what it seems to me...he seems like a hopeless romantic that just wants to be in love. I really hope he found it. I too always hope for the best and I am an admitted hopeless romantic myself!

I did not get to meet his family...although that would have been interesting. It seems as though they are very hands on so it wouldn''t surprise me if his parents go in the tasting room too to help out. I honestly found Andrew to be nicer than the staff they had working in the tasting room. He acknowledged us right away versus the last time I was there...no one said anything to me for 20 minutes (and they weren''t that busy) so I just left. He was not there that time although I passed him in his truck on my way into the vineyard. I think the family''s charter is very old school and very genuine...so I think it''s more who did the hiring on their behalf that made bad choices. Anyhow...I am rambling now..I hope you have a great day Wolftress!

I thought he was an attractive and really nice Bachelor - was disappointed it didn''t work out with Jen. However, her turn at the Bachelorette didn''t fare any better either, so...????

Anyway, interesting that you met him at the vineyard!!! I bet more people might have gone over had they known he was pouring!!
