Me and my FF''s 4 year Anniversary is coming up on August 13th!!! These have been the best 4 years of my life and look forward to spending the rest of our lives with each other!

So, I already know what i''m doing for his "main" gift, but also found something I wanted to get him as more of a smaller gift. Sorta like a stocking stuffer I guess you would say. I found this matching key chain set at James Avery called "Mizpah Key Chain Set." Once I found this I fell for these keychains. We share the same beliefs in God and are christians and I think these matching keychains are special. The only down fall is the price!! For these matching keychains in silver the price is $125. I really like the keychains, and if this was going to be the only gift I gave him it would be fine, but i''m worried that the

price is a little too much. I''m not a cheap person by any means, but am I being a little uptight on the price? In bronze the same keychain set is $60. I could handle amount but neither of us like the look of bronze (not a yellow gold fan either).

Thoughts or advice anyone?!

If you already got your guy an anniversary gift (I love the keychains by the way) have you thought about saving the keychains for maybe Christmas? Does he have a birthday coming up? Or, maybe you could save them for an engagement present and have your names engraved or something. Just a few thoughts. No, I don't think you're being uptight or cheap but it sounds like this might be something to save for another occasion since you've got his gift taken care of already. Good luck!

ETA: I like the ones Robbie posted too.

That''s definitely more $$ than what a typical stocking stuffer gift would cost!! We''re talking on the order of Tiffany''s prices here, as 1 tag keychain at Tiff''s is $75-80. Times two would be about $150 and these are what, $125? So not exactly cheap. I like the sentiment if it fits the both of you but you may want to hold off for Christmas. If you could find them in stainless steel or something....score!!!

I was thinking the same thing about Tiffany prices FireGoddess! Here''s another idea...if you can''t find anything else you like and you''re willing to wait for the next occasion, how about getting a pair of matching keychains and having them engraved? Things Remembered does this, I''m sure lots of other places do also.

Those are lovely, and in the past I''ve had one half of a Mizbah coin, and you can definitely find a less expensive version of that, if you''re set on it for your anniversary. Lots of times you can find them at Christian book stores, like Lifeway. Mine came from Target, though. The set was like 30-35 bucks, and it was sterling silver. They were necklaces, though. I suppose key chains are a bit thicker and more sturdy.

Just by doing a quick search online, I found several options, much like Robbie found. Also, there are several listed on Ebay, if you''re interested in going that route.

I recently got Paul a Braves keychain; he loves it. While it wasn''t cheap, * it wasn''t that expensive, either* and he''s commented that it sure has gotten scuffed up and lost it''s *shine* due to getting clinked against keys so often, and shoved in and out of his pocket.

It''s a cute idea and I hope you are able to find a set you like just as much, without paying so much.

Robbie, Irish, and Fire thanks for the advice!!

Robbie: I didn''t even think to check to see if other vendors carried similar keychains! The ones you found are cute too. They are both so different. I lean more towards the JA ones, but the price that Fire found on Ebay is unbeatable!! I have some thinking to do!

Irish: hmm..I''m most likely going to hold off on these till Christmas, but I also like the option of giving it to my man as a engagement gift when the times comes.

I must face reality and come to terms with the fact that getting my ff a Rolex as an engagement gift isn''t financially a smart move. After all, what''s important is that whatever gift I give comes from the heart. When we are older and have a higher amount of disposable income I will look more into investing in a Rolex.

My question is I thought about getting the back engraved with our names, anniversary date etc but do you think it would erode of from daily wear of a keychain?!

Fire: Wow, I can''t believe JA is that close to what a Tiffany''s keychain would cost!

Thx for researching ebay for me!

Irish: AH...I didn''t even think of Things Remembered! I''ll have look into that!

Fisher: Oh at Lifeway huh? There''s one real close to the University I attend. I''ll have to swing by and ask an associate.

thx ya''ll!!

The engraving won''t erode unless you regularly take sand paper to it. =) However, if you go with the keychains you showed they will get very very very scratched. I have a class keychain from college in shiny, polished sterling, and my friends who used it with their keys got it so scratched up. If you go with a keychain, it might be wise to find something with a matte finish.

Good luck!

I don''t know how close you are thinking your engagement may be, but they also have some really cute promise rings that have precious Bible verses in hebrew and greek that circle the band, and I just think matching bands like that are so cute! But, if an engagement is coming soon, that would be kind of redundant at this point.

Things Remembered has a LOT of really pretty stuff. Paul''s engagement present came from there, and if you decide to hold off on the keychains for another time, I bet you can find a nice something there and get it engraved with the day you met for a sentimental anniversary gift!

Have fun!!

Mizpah charms where popular many years ago when I was young. How about something like these?

Fisher - I''m not involved in the ring process like some on PS are. We have gone shopping and I have shown him rings I like etc..but I won''t know when he purchases the ring etc. This works best for us b/c we are both big surprise people. We do know that marriage is in our future, and he has told me and others that if money weren''t a factor that he''d have already purchased the ring and we''d be engaged, but being younger we''re still getting our "ducks in a row." I have a feeling that it will be within the next year (I''m secretly hoping for it to happen before 2007).

As for the promise ring idea I do have a lovely ring w/ pink sapphires and diamonds that my honey gave me two Valentine''s Days back, so the matching rings thing is out. I have seen other couples with these and do think it''s a great idea, but since I already have a ring that I wear on the engagement/wedding ring finger that''s not an option.

oshinbreez - Thanks for the info. I definitely have a lot more options than I thought I would! I never realize that mizpah charms etc had once been so popular!
