Another happy camper - IDJ u prong 3/4 eternity!

Hi all,

This is my first thread but I am a long-time lurker.

I recently received my u-prong eternity from ID Jewelry (ordered online, sight unseen, as I live in Australia). Buying such a significant purchase online was a little nerve-wracking but I felt pretty confident due to all of the reviews and experiences I have read here on PS! It turned out so well so I can't help but share it with you! It is a 3/4 eternity as I am a little hard on my rings as was worried I would damage the bottom diamonds on a full eternity. Also I love that I can resize the ring slightly if I ever need to.

I worked with Luann at IDJ and she was fantastic. The ring only took about 2 weeks to make, despite it being the Xmas/New Year period.

The stats:
16 x 0.15ct diamonds, 2.40ctw
FG colour
VS clarity
"Pricescope quality" - Ideal cut
18kt white gold
Size 7 (I am a size 6 but due to a sports injury about a year one of the knuckles on my right ring finger is now a bit bigger - luckily the ring doesn't seems to spin)

Please excuse my puffy fingers (and bumpy knuckle! ). It is pretty hot here in Perth at the moment and my fingers don't like it much!!

As you can see I have short stubby fingers, so I will be wearing this as a RHR as I don't have a lot of room left after my wedding set on my left hand!

You know what... I don't think I have a pic of my wedding set! Will have to fix that

For now, here is a pic of my wedding ring with DH's ring, from our wedding day. It's channel set half eternity... can't remember the exact specs, but about 1/2 a carat each of the diamonds and sapphires - 5 diamonds, 4 sapphires. My ER is a Tiffany knife edge style solitaire, small by PS standards at 0.47ct as DH is a PhD student, so not exactly rolling in it (great specs otherwise, EX cut, F colour, VS1). It doesn't really match my WB (which overpowers it) but I love it anyway

Beautiful!!!! I asked Luann for a quote for the same exact ring. I love the look of the U prong setting. I asked for 0.10 stones intead of 0.15.

Do you feel the melee color is correctly stated at F/G since you have a F color engagement ring to compare it to? I saw another poster with an IDJ eternity band saying her stones seem closer to H/I.

OCgirl - yes, to me they look very white - I don't see any warmth next to my F-coloured ER. In fact, I actually had the ring independently valued yesterday, just to make sure it is what IDJ says it is, and the valuer absolutely agreed with the FG colour rating (and all of the other stats). She valued it at significantly more than what I paid, so I am happy with that!

Your ring is gorgeous, I might have to get myself one those very soon especially now you and Dandi Andi have glowing reports about IDJ. Gives me the reassurance I need to proceed and Luann is great, nothing is too much trouble.

I like the 3/4 idea, (my fingers swell up in the heat to, as Dandi said it is quite hot here in Melbourne at the moment) 81/2 size fingers.
