This is a double post since I did share this ring in SMTB, but I thought that CS'ers especially might want to see a ruby, and be introduced to a new Etsy vendor. The ruby is a half-carat heat only Burmese ruby from Simply Sapphires, and checks in around 4.7-8mm. In person, its the PERFECT red. I absolutely adore the ruby. Debra Blazer from Etsy crafted the setting, with two small flowers flanking the centerstone with a 2mm diamond bezeled into each flower. The ruby is set into 14k yellow gold, but the gold color doesn't seem obvious until you look closely--the rest of the ring is in sterling silver. I asked her to set the flowers as low as possible, and the ring does catch on clothes. The flowers have a brushed finish. Deb was awesome to work with, and I definitely recommend her work. Her prices were very reasonable, and her wait time is significantly shorter than many other Etsy vendors.

What a pretty ring, and so original. Very nice! I'll bet people comment on it a lot -- it's just charming.

My kind of red in rubies, and thanks for sharing you lovely ring.

DK :))

I appreciate the info - and your ring is very pretty! I've had that etsy seller in my favorites for awhile now, I like her style. I've never bought from her though, so your review is helpful to me :). Thanks for posting and enjoy your new addition!

She's done a lovely job, very cute ring :D

Thank you JF! I'd been wanting something with a 'floral' feel for a while, so I was pretty excited to find this designer/artist who does a lot of work with floral themes. What's strange is that I almost feel like I've just finished a good book by ending this project; I've held onto the stone for so long that it feels strange to have finally completed the project.

Thank you DK! And thank you Kat and Blingy. I really appreciate it! Kat--I also just had a ring and pendant set by her as well, and both turned out very well. I think her setting fee was around $20, which is so reasonable.
