I am so excited to be starting the process of getting the Skye 5-stone u-prong ring made for my wedding band! Working with Whiteflash has been so wonderful! They have found the following set for me which are SO within my price range (ACAs a bit outside the price range for sure) and I wanted to run them past some Pricescope experts to see how you guys thought they matched up!

Also, we are talking of having the ring sit even lower than stock as I actually WILL be wearing it next to a high set engagement ring from time to time! I thought I had read someone on here did something similiar but am having a hard time finding the thread - Whiteflash is working on finding pics as well for me but was curious if anyone had the link handy. :)

Thanks so much!

It looks like a lovely set of matching stones. All numbers/sizes/pics looked good to me. It should be beautiful!

crl_md,

I love the stones -the color and proportions should be perfect. I looked up the skye setting and it is stunning. Are you going with white gold, platinum or yellow gold?

thanks so much! i am doing it in WG to match my e-ring since unlike most people who do this big of a 5 stone i actually DO like the look of them together from time to time :) sooo excited!!

Welcome to the 5 stone club.

The stones looked great. It's gonna be gorgeous

Your stones are a knockout! Can't wait to see the ring, and Yes, welcome to the 5-stone club!

And if anyone was interested since I could not find that thread with the Skye band set lower than stock, here is the photo Chris at Whiteflash provided. Soo excited!

awesome!!!

Welcome to the club! I have a BGD 5 stone U-prong in rose gold.

Please show a photo of your ER (mention stone size and ring size), so We can see how the two rings will match together. Wonder if you will be wearing a spacer band to prevent the diamonds from damaging/eating/scratching adjacent metal and diamonds?

I have to use a spacer band to separate my ER and 5-stone ring. In addition, the 40-pt stones in my 5-stone ring are too big in proportion to my ER stone. Someday, I may get a semi or full eternity with 10-pointers for pairing up with my ER. Just make sure that 33-pointers are not too large for your ER stone. IStill, i looks like a great ring on its own.

I have two 5-stone rings (U-prong for left and Trellis for right finger) custom made by Whiteflash. They are both stunning. I think you will be pleased with yours.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

FancyDiamond - so I know 99 out of 100 people on Pricescope would say that the 0.31-0.34 diamonds are WAY too big for my engagement ring and "take away" from the solitaire stone. I guess I must just have terrible taste because I LOVE the look of my engagement ring with the very chunky 5 stone!! That said I do not wear my engagement ring to work as a physician so I am thrilled to have the beautiful stand-alone wedding band I am getting for Mon-Fri wear! But maybe one night a week when I go out to a social function or something I plan to wear the set together.

Most people did recommend 10 point eternity band to me based on my e-ring size and they just did not do it for me in person.

Attached is a photo of a 5 stone with 0.30 stones from the local store, essentially the same size as the Whiteflash stones in terms of measurement with my 1.5 ct pear engagement ring.

Maybe someday I will have a different engagment center stone and the set will be more well-matched ;) but in the mean time i REALLY enjoy the sea of diamonds. :)

I found with the 5-stone pictured as well as a 5-stone at another jeweler that it was set low enough that no diamonds touched - - I am hoping with the lower set Skye that will also be the case - - no diamond on diamond touching - - would you still recommend a spacer band? Both settings will be 14K WG. My engagement ring setting was dirt cheap, like <$150 but of course the Skye setting is more costly at $1200 so I would not want to do any unnecessary damage.

Wow! Your set rocks! I agree with you that 33-pt stones go better with your solitaire ER than 10-pointers. 1. Your ER is a solitaire, so the large 33-pointers will go well with the metal band. 2. Your band is fairly wide, so a "chunky Skye" with larger stones matches better.

Like you, 10-point stones won't do for me, because I prefer large stones. This is why I keep buying 5-stone rings instead of getting myself an eternity ring with smaller diamonds. For some unknown reasons to me, I find larger diamonds sparkle more and have more rainbows.

As for the spacer band, I suspect it may not go well with your ER stacked with the 5-stone ring. There may be too much metal. You need to try out a thin band from a local jewelry store to see for yourself. While my spacer band looks semi-OK with my 3-stone ER and 5-stone ring as a 3-ring combo, it does not look good when stacked with my 5-stone ring alone. Can't explain why. I guess it is case-by-case, and one needs to check out each case in person.

Make sure that the diamonds from your 5-stone ring does not eat up the prongs of your ER. Although you can replace your ER setting, the bigger problem is potential loss of your precious center stone (gorgeous pear BTW) from loose/broken prong(s).
