Antique Asscher Halo 18k white gold ring “Ashlee”

I’m thinking of selling my antique asscher that I purchased from Alex Parks. The diamond is to die for..absolutely gorgeous. I had a beautiful setting made for it by David Klass. I lead a very simple life where I don’t get the opportunity to wear this beautiful ring. I want to upgrade my ACA so this would help with that. I’m sending out feelers to see if anyone is interested. I know Alex said at the time that he was getting messages after I purchased it asking about the diamond. I’ll just attach some photos and a clipped photo of the GIA report that I can always take a full pic of later. You can also look it up because the GIA number is there. It’s just so big with the halo that it takes up a large part of my finger..I would love for a PS’er to have it instead of sending it out there where I would never see her again. I paid $14k to Alex...and $2350 for the diamond setting with custom cut baguettes. I would like to get $15k (firm) for it which includes a hefty PayPal fee because my account is only set up with a credit card. If there’s anyone interested I will put it up on Loupe Troop. it's such a rare, sought after and chic vintage asscher ring.

the way you designed the setting, looks to be a wonderfully comfortable ring to wear, as well.

with such a nice large open gallery, a dream to clean.

it seems, you have thought of everything. you would be parting with quite a fabulous ring, if you did decide to sell. i know i would be gutted.

anyone would be fortunate to take that ring off your hands.

may whatever you choose, bring you lightness and peace ...

I wouldn't sell this... I think you'll regret it. It's a rare stone and it's a beautiful setting.

I have an emerald cut that's in a very similar setting.

we are all different in the way we enjoy our sparkly goods. i LOVE wearing it around the house!!! i find, i enjoy it very much..

i don't know if i'm in the minority. But when i see an older lady with lots of nice big bold diamonds. i think "how wonderful it looks on them..." i feel, "wow, she's earned it and how great she gets to wear such fantastic diamonds..."

i was shopping, awhile ago, before covid lockdown, and this older lady walked into the precious jewels salon. we started chatting and turns out she was wearing a 13ct mrb solitaire. she was lovely and friendly and had a rescue dog with her. her diamond was an i or j color... and she wore it so well. she had on a comfy oversized t shirt and shorts, not a bit of makeup, hair was every which way and her big solitaire. she ended up getting a verdura piece.

anyhow, just my long winded way of sharing with you and saying, im certain you will make the best decision for you

yes, it was a really big, big ring and it did sparkle! But more so, i noticed it's sizable weight and how it protruded from her hand. as she was about 5'4" or so, rather petite.

she looked very distinguished, dignified and rightful in her jewels. even though she looked like she had just rolled out of bed.

unfortunately no pictures, i didn't want to be hovering over her big ring with my phone. might weird her out. trying to be respectful

If you're going to get hammered for Paypal charges, you could (if I understand their services correctly?! ) consider using DenverAppraiser or Oldminer for escrow with a combined appraisal service - that would give both you and the buyer confidence, you could save some money, and you'd be supporting our quality PS-recommended appraisers

@MamaBee I would keep it. I am sure the size will grow on you. Plus with everything going on I would just wear it all day at home if need be. Unless doing gardening or something like that of course.

I think if a PS’er doesn’t want to buy it I will hold off...I may even have David resize it for my right hand. I think the problem is that I think I have too many engagement type rings. If I wear it on my right hand I’ll only have three engagement rings.. I know I’m crazy....
