Antique v estate v second hand

Ok, just a qucik question on some terms which have confused me. What is the difference between antique, estate and second hand. My understading is that an antique is more than 100 years old, what about the rest of these terms, and do they have a secific meaning in the jewellery trade. I guess why is one estate and not second hand? etc.

Can anyone enlighten me ?? -

Estate and second hand can definitely mean the same, although some jewelers try to differentiate...., and make it sound antiquey!!!
