I have a beautiful Kenneth Pool for Amsale (designed by Austin Scarlett himself!) on order. It''s simply gorgeous and I know I will rock it on the day of my wedding. I recently lost 30 lbs and look and feel great. When I went to be measured I was 34-25-34 or something like that and the measurements were accurate as I had measured myself that morning. They sized me up to a chart and ordered me a size TWO wedding gown. I wear a size two in street clothes (and a size 0 at places that vanity size such as JCrew, The Gap etc) so wouldn''t it be strange for me to wear a size two in a wedding dress?????

Would anyone be so kind as to share their measurements and what size dress they ordered (especially if you are a Kenneth Pool bride)?

THANKS!

I bought a Kenneth Pool gown on a clearence rack and sold it on ebay, so I''m not technicially a bride, but the dress did fit me perfectly.

It was a size 10, and the measurements were about 36" bust and 29" waist. I normally wear an 8, so it wasn''t too off. If the chart said 2, then I would hope it''s correct and the size will be fine.

Hi - I also wore a Kenneth Pool by Amsale gown designed by Austin Scarlett - I think he makes the most beautiful dresses! Can you post a pic of the dress you chose?

As far a sizing goes, I have almost exactly the same measurements as you (I am 5''2") and wear a street size 2 or 4 and the bridal shop ordered me an 8. It had to be taken in a little bit, but I would say not more than an inch or two. I was very concerned when I ordered my dress that it would be way too big, but the bridal shop assured me that Kenneth Pool runs very small because it is sized like true couture and not like regular street sizes. I also researched it on the Knot, and found a bride who was a street size 2 who couldn''t zip her size 6 Kenneth Pool when she got it. In retrospect, I probably could have ordered a size smaller (i.e. a 6), but definitely not a size 2. I would make sure the shop is using the most recent sizing chart and ask them what the recourse will be if the dress is too small.

First of all, congrats on losing the weight! You go girl!

My dress is not Kenneth Pool, but Allure Exclusive, so I don''t know how their sizes measure up. But according to my measurements I was a solid size 6 but I asked them to order an 8. I usually wear 4 to 6 in street clothes and am looking to lose 5 to 10 pounds to ''lean up'' for my wedding. I just felt more comfortable ordering up because I think it would be easier to take in a dress then let it out.

Thank you everyone for your input. Holy crap, NovemberBride you have me scared now. I never once told them what size to order, I assumed they would know what they are doing. I suspect on my wedding day I will be five pounds less additionally as I am between 100-105 now and want to be just shy of 100 lbs, where I feel my best. Even, so I don''t suspect I will fit the dress. Since they are the ones who instructed me on what size to order I do hope I fit into it. Honestly though, if I am not a 2 (and there was a smaller size 0 on offer also) who is? You would need to be totally flat chested and anorexic as I am pretty darn petite.

In any case, here is my beautiful gown. Shhhh, it''s a secret!!!

Same thing happened to me, except with a size 10. WTF?? I have been warned and warned that my wedding dress size will be at least THREE sizes higher than my street clothes! At first I was worried that the seamstress didn''t measure me correctly, but then I settled dwn and decided that I am just going to do my best to continue losing weight (still want to lose 25 lbs) and maybe the dress will even be TOO BIG by the time it comes in! Ha! Better than too small, right?

But that''s just my story. Basically all I mean is wedding dress sizes are wacky, and that''s in both directions. Your measurements are what matters, so trust the seamstress and don''t fret.

Tricia, where''d you do your dress shopping?
