Well, BF/FI and I went to the jeweler yesterday for his latest shipment of sapphires, and I finally found something I love! It is being custom-made similar to the design below.
We postponed the ring shopping for a number of reasons (BF/FI''s business was tanking in this economy; FILs were behaving badly; etc.), and I''m calling FI "BF/FI", because he has not officially proposed. I asked BF/FI: "So, we pick up the ring next week, and I start wearing it on my finger; or do you keep it until whenever you propose?" To which BF/FI answers, "I have something up my sleeve". Eek, could he mean he would get down on one knee in the jewelry store?
This has been the strangest trip to the altar. We actually already have a wedding date, wedding planner, wedding dress, entertainment, venue, etc. At least, I''m getting the engagement ring 7 months from the wedding date (or so I think I will if he proposes within the next week; otherwise, it would be 6 months and counting).
