I just tried to sell my BF''s (... er... FI''s) car on ebay motors, and someone bought it through buy-it-now. Now they''re being totally weird and sketchy and asking us to wire money to shipping company (against the terms we specified in the auction) and haven''t made the required deposit in the specified time. The buyer has negative feedback and has a really hard time communicating in writing. But ebay isn''t letting us send a non-paying notice to them yet to allow us to end the transaction and relist it. Plus, I think we''re responsible for fees...

We''ve never sold anything through ebay before and we''re feeling a little overwhelmed. Anyone have any insight or tips for us?

Hi, Vel...

I subscribing to your thread because I''d LOVE to learn about selling things on Ebay. I''ve wanted to forever but haven''t had the nerve....

I''ve already learned something: Accept no bids/offers from people with negative feedback....not that this is any help for you. Sorry!

But how do you decline/cancel a bid? They got it through buy-it-now, and we actually*wanted* to cancel, but couldn''t figure out how! I wonder if it''s too late!

Isn''t there some kind of support online through Ebay for this kind of problem??? Sorry I can''t be of more help. Good luck.

Contact ebay and they will take care of it. In the future you can put a thing on your auctions that say you have a right to cancel any bid from someone with too m any negatives.....so on and so forth. Send an email to Ebay they ought to help you out.

yeah in the future there are ways to set it up so that only people with postives or with 'pre approval' from you can bid etc. it's worth it on large items when you don't want to deal with weirdos...as you are finding out!

i would contact ebay and tell them that this seller is violating the terms of your auction as set forth...

however i don't think you HAVE To sell them the car...you can decline their bid i think somehow. you are the seller....maybe use their help tool to figure it out.

Though not sure if that applies to BIN purchases. You could just say sorry I don't want to sell you the car after all.
