hello. i''m trying to seek out the perfect pair of shoes for my dress. the wedding is going to be in July up in VT and while the dress is pretty simple the location of the wedding is fairly formal -- so i feel like i can consider a lot of different options which i guess is part of the problem.

i''ll post the dress -- the top two are actually my dress and the bottom picture is how i''m hoping to alter my straps.

Because i don''t have photoshop i''ll post the shoes, but it''ll have to be one at a time.

simple and elegant. i like them a lot

#2

i like the flower detail -- understated, but cute

#3

it has a simple leaf detail which is a nice little nod to VT

I like shoes #1 too! And I still can''t believe how similar dress #1 is to dress #2! You really got a great deal! I''m sure you can easily have the straps altered to look like dress #2!

#4

might be too white since my dress is sort of a yellowish ivory

brightspot -- i got a ridiculous deal! i think that they might be so similar because they are both vera wangs -- just one is a LOT more pricey

Not to mention your dress...every time I see it I love it even more!

And where are you getting married in Vermont? I''m going to be getting married in upstate NY right across the lake from Burlington and was thinking I''d probably have to use a lot of VT vendors since there''s not much of anything in the Adirondacks...

I really like #1, but also I think #2 could add a little something fun.

I really like shoe #2.

I like #1... but more importantly, which ones are the most comfortable?!! that was a huge factor in my shoe selection........

#1 is so classic what a beautiful shoe! But as Flopkins said- have you tried on any of the shoes you posted? Cause you''ll be wearing them for HOURS and you certainly do not want aching feet on your special day

I love #2! The flowers are really cute.

#5!!!

#1 looks like they were made for your dress. Love them!

Thanks for all the feedback!

My favorite is #1, but unfortunately I have learned that the style was discontinued last year and they are completely sold out my my color/size. I tried ebay -- even contacted someone that sells wholesale and she told me she couldn''t track any down.

i agree that the simplicity of the shoe is a perfect compliment for my dress and now i''m so disappointed. i''m really hung up on these shoes

there''s got to be more in a similar style out there. especially with spring coming up!

if anyone sees anything give me a holler

Lulu, that totally sucks about #1 being discontinued, but I''ve got to tell you I love #7!! #6 was lovely, too.

#2! Definitely. They're elegant and fun at the same time.

I like #6. I love gold shoes. I like #1 too; that sucks that it''s discontinued. Have you ever have shoes like #1 with the wrap around?

I like #6, the braiding somehow compliments the bodice of your dress. (And while #1 also has braiding, the ankle lace up is less informal and it sounded like you wanted to stay more toward formal due to your venue?)

#2 is yummy! I hope you find a good subsitute b/c the flower detail is so cute! When work gets slow for me I will look.

Well, on the bright side, I''ve got to tell you that the lace up shoes (#1) can be very uncomfortable, I had shoes with the leather strings, and not only did they always come undone, but after a while the straps started to chafe and pull too tight. I say #6!
