I have my 6.8 mm pink tourmaline set in a custom made Daniel M setting, its sterling silver and the mounting is 14K rose gold and its a size 9.5, I am going to reset it, I dislike having to clean the sterling when I want to wear it and it no longer fits me anyway so I am thinking of having it reset in a very simple solitaire generic gold setting for now, I was going to let my jeweler just melt the setting but before I do would there be any interest for anyone? If so I can post pictures, I don't currently have any on this computer or on my phone but I certainly can take some. I just checked I bought the setting back in 2011 and honestly I really didn't wear it that much I just wasn't ever really in love with the sterling...it was such a pain.
No clue on a price..just thought I could figure that out if anyone might be interested...let me know and thanks

Can you post photos pls? I don't know this ring or what it looks like.

here is some with the stone still in it..I havent been to the jewelers yet to have it removed.

I have giant hands so this would fit me, Are you thinking maybe $50-$75? I could probably figure out something to put in it!

@lydial yes that is the range I was thinking...my only concern is that when I have the stone removed that the jeweler will have to be very careful so that the prongs don't get damaged...it is so hard to find settings in this large size I know all about that for sure lol...I have lost over 100 lbs so I can't wear this on any of my fingers and I really love the stone so I just want to be able to wear it, I will update this thread when I get a chance to get to the jewelers...thanks all

Thank you for considering me! Congrats on the weight loss! I myself am truly “big boned” and no amount of weight off changes my ring size significantly. When I was wearing a 4 I was an 8 3/4, now I am about an 8 and wear a 9. As I say to myself, they broke the mold after they made me and I am unique:) I have about 10 to lose but the fingers stay the same.
