I am !!

In 3 days I have done my kitchen table, my kitchen fireplace mantle, living room mantle

dining room buffet, dining room table, picture frame ornament tree, Christmas fairy tree (ugggh!)

and fallen down the dang stairs. So now that I''m all bruised up I hoping to have enough gumption to put up our big tree. It''s a monster and takes 2 days. I have hundreds of Old World/Radko type ornaments. After thre fairy tree, I need a rest.

I know, I know, it''s not even Thanksgiving, but we are having several parties early in the month, so I felt the pressure to get it done.

Ann I am with you on getting started early! It is much easier to get it out of the way so you can relax Thanksgiving weekend (well at least not worry about decorating, maybe not RELAX..) . I do three trees--one big one in the living room, one "Wizard of Oz" themed 4.5 foot tree in the dining room, and one small tree in the bedroom trimmed with tropical Radko garlands and ornaments my parents have collected for me on their vacations over the years. I also want to do a sports-themed tree in the basement (where hubby spends most of his time watching games) this year, but I don''t know if he''ll let me...he seems to think I''m crazy for having more than one tree!

They really should have more decorations for Thanksgiving. It seems like it''s always passed over...we go from Halloween to Christmas.

I haven''t decorated but I will be moving...but I''ve decided that I won''t be putting up a tree until after I have kids. It''s just too much work for just me and SO. I will be decorating the house though.

My fiance and I put up christmas lights and decorations over the weekend. I was just post-exam (which means I had more time for fun stuff) and christmas lights make me happy. love ''em!!!

we''re doing thanksgiving and ''fall'' right now, because we''re having it at our house this year. i have various colored gourds in groups around the house and on the mantels and also put out the pottery barn autumn leaf wreaths around my candle hurricanes and the like. so far that''s it...not a whole lot going on.

we decorate the weekend after thanksgiving for xmas!! i love doing it. every year i buy more xmas stuff!

I have 3 mini pumpkins of various colors and sizes on the kitchen table for now...those will be replaced with Christmas stuff next week.

I have my stocking holders up (there are three and they spell out the word JOY) along with my "I've been very naughty/I've been very nice" stockings from Pottery Barn a few years back. I've got snowflake runners on the mantle and a wreath above it, as well as a Christmas countdown statuette on the coffee table. I'm going to put a lighted wreath on the front door this weekend. Next weekend we are going down to a Christmas tree farm to chop down our tree and start decorating it!!!

I also couldn't resist a cute little ornament of Christmas bells that I hung on the rear view mirror of my car.

You guys start early! We don''t start until after Thanksgiving. We don''t do much outside, its mostly indoors, like along the mantles, loft railings, dining room and foyer. We haven''t even had our greens delivered yet to start with. However, today on my bus to work I did see they started selling xmas trees!

BF reaaaallllyyy wants a flocked tree. Can''t decide my opinion on them. My first reaction is

but then I''m creative - can''t I make it look good by keeping the ornamentation more natural like limiting the colors and variation on ornaments?

How do you feel about these trees (be honest please)

I like flocked visually but we had one one year just to try it and it was really messy. The flocking fell every time the tree moved etc and we were always vacuuming around it. It could be irritating if you have darker carpet. Also, if you have a pet, make sure that the flocking is okay for them to eat, in case they do.

I am a noble fir gal...since childhood...I don''t like any other trees because you can''t see the ornaments as well since they are so bushy! But I do like them in stores and stuff like that when all the ornaments are the same and you don''t need to visually appreciate each one...I think they are more uniform.

We MAY put one downstairs for fun this year and get a bushy one that I can use all the same type of ornaments on...but the one in our family room is with all the special ornaments that I collect from year to year. My favorites are red and gold glass and similar types to that...round..shapes..stars...hearts etc. I have alot of red and gold.

I haven''t started decorating yet, but will do so after our company leaves (some may be spending a night or two following Thanksgiving).

We had a huge elaborate Halloween theme for the kids this year and with all those decorations out, I got an opportunity to see where my kids are at as far as how likely they are to break something while rough housing around the family room. They seem okay, but I think I''m going to focus mostly on soft decorations, like towels for the bathrooms

and keep the heirlooms tucked away for another year or two.

Out of curiosity, has anyone found any especially cute holiday hand towel sets (I need three sets)?

We started putting up our decorations yesterday. I just love christmas lights and i love having the tree lights on at night. I keep white lights on my in house trees all year long

. I''ve got a bunch of family coming in too, but want to have it pretty much done before they get here. We don''t do things that are too elaborate b/c I hate having to pack it all back up after new years

. But anything that will light up finds a place
