I see all the posts asking for ideas about how to set specific stone. I have come to the conclusion that I have wayyyyy too many trays of loose stones and/or not enough money to set them all. Every time I see a post it gets me started "oh I should set this stone or that stone" and then comes another post and I am on a new trail with a different stone, and I can't decide which to set or how to set it.
Why oh why can't I win the lottery!

I'm sure a lot of PSers deal with your pain. We do see some people put a lot of stones up on pre-loved once
they can figure out what they want to keep and what they can part with.

Can you keep your top 3 to 5 and sell the rest? Use the funds to have the once you keep set...one-by-one?

Not an easy task when you love them all! Good luck!

I have this problem too! And I'm too lazy to list most of them

I have way too many to just keep 3 to 5, lol and I love them all and some have special meaning (hubbys or daughter's birthstone...) I am glad I am not the only one that is so indecisive, sometimes I think I have ADD, ooh look gemstones, diamonds, squirrel!

3 boxes of stones, approximately 150 ish stones total that are unset. This isn't including the strands of pearls and other semi precious stones I have, and there are lots of those.

Its to this end that I had to stop buying. Yes I have quite a beautiful collection and unfortunately my taste these days don't match up with my wallet....lol

But, I'm also not exactly setting any. I have a lot of beautiful pieces that I don't wear and so I'm kinda in this weird grey area (I've been here for quite a while now)

I do sometimes pull out things and look at them because they're certainly pretty but, I guess with whats going on in my life, its not a rush to set anything either.

Nope.

What I have is just right.
You may call me, Goldilocks.

After all, I am partial to bears. ;))

I have a few small loose OEC's and OMC's. Will slowly figure out what I want to do with them and then bite the bullet and spend the funds. I buy some and then they aren't quite the right size or something, so they sit.

I have maybe 5 loose stones that I have given to my son to play with.

I just buy big ones these days! And I set them ASAP!

I have way too many loose CSs to set, and the current setting queue is for the nicer precision cut natural gems.

The precision cut lab CSs and I have a few of them, might not be set for a long time! If I were to set them, they will be set in Rhodium-plated silver with LGD or Moissy to save on setting cost.

DK :))

I have some great CZs that I got from Wink years ago, and a few synthetic colored gems. My problem is I've tired of white metals after 20 years and I only want yellow or rose gold. But gold is at an all-time high. whaaaaaa! Pity poor me. Bad timing.
:boohoo:

I have a bunch of old cuts that I want to make into two bangles but the cost of just so high. I'm so sad hahaha. If only my wrist was a bit smaller I could have easily found an antique bangle for cheaper than it costs to make.

Would anyone spend 800 GBP on a lab CS even if it is precision cut, and then spend 5k+ GBP estimated on a custom hand forged setting???

Not for me personally.

DK :confused2:
