I''ve never seen this in person, but it looks really lovely. I understand your concern because tiers can be somewhat difficult to wear. Since it''s Nordstrom''s, do you think it''s worth it to order it? You can always return it to any store. Or, alternatively, you can call around and see if anyone carries it. I know that Nordstrom does not always carry what''s online in all the stores.

Maybe you can shop around and try on dresses that have tiers (by other brands) to give you an idea of what the style might look like on you.

Good luck...it''s a really pretty dress.

If you are really talll and really skinny it will work. It doesn''t work on someone short. I tried on a dress just like it and it made me look dumpy and my hips looked huge. I''m a size 6/8.

I tried on a similiar dress and it didn''t make me look hippy. I am very curvy but also tiny, size 0, so that could be part of it. The tiers start low enough on the hip I don''t think it would be a problem. However, it does not work on short people like myself since the vertical lines on the legs are rather shortening.

That is the problem. When the tiers start low like that it draws the eyes down towards the hips. You didn''t look hippy because you are so tiny (lucky thing!) So the combination of being anything over a size two plus being short the dress just doesn''t work

You know, that is what I thought....that it would make me look shorter, no matter how high my heels were. As well as wider due to the tiers. I was hoping it would do the opposite though.. I just keep going back to this dress. It is also on ebay NWT for $126.00. Which is such a good deal. However I am a sz 12 and 5''4.

I guess it may be time to let this dress go.........

yeah don't do it lauralu. i don't think it will flatter shorter people. i'm short and i think it would make me or anyone who is short look like a wedding cake. but some people maybe going for that look - i just don't think it sounds like you are.

keep on looking there are tons of dresses out there that will make you look wonderful

Try to find it locally, really well cut dresses can look good even if they don''t seem like it. Sometimes details like that can hide things because they are unique. If you want it that much, try it. You have nothing to lose.

Nordstrom has a great returns policy. I am not sure about that style, but I bought a Tadashi dress from Saks back in October for a semi-formal event, and it was really high quality. I''ve actually seen it on TV like 4 times since then. So if the style works for you, then I think it''d work.
