Hi there,
We''re planning to marry at a historical catholic chapel that is quite cozy (max capacity 125)
and are thrilled that our small-ish wedding of 75-80 guests will actually make it look somewhat full!

There is not much space up front for musicians, although there is an organ in the back. I have a dear friend who is an accomplished flute player and it would mean so much to have her play at our wedding. I really don''t have the budget for a string quartet, besides they wouldn''t fit!

Has anyone had or heard a wedding ceremony with only a flute? I''m just curious if it sounded ok, or if I should have the traditional organ music (there''s no piano).

It''s a traditional catholic cermeony (not full mass) so it would be classical type music.

thanks!

Yes.....I had a solo flutist for my outdoor park wedding, and it was really pretty.

I think a solo flutist would be beautiful (I may be biased as I play the flute myself, but that''s besides the point).

The flute has a very sweet sound & I think you''ll be surprised at how that little instrument will fill up the church

We had a flute and a piano. My sister sang a song as well during the ceremony. It was very nice.

thanks everyone,
i love the flute, but have only heard it with piano, not solo.

i will definitely ask my friend if she would consider doing this for us-
besides being beautiful it would be more meaningful than having a stranger playing the organ!

Love the flute, used to play. I think it would be beautiful!

Best of luck :}

I was at a bridal expo this weekend and there was a flutist there playing a tape of what she does at weddings. It sounded so beautiful and I think it''s a lovely idea to have your friend play.

Also biased because I play the flute, but I think it will be beautiful!
