Anyone have an e-ring that can''t be worn with a band?

I''ve been looking around for a band that will go with my e-ring. I went to a ring store the other day and tried on some different types of bands but nothing looked perfect. The closest to perfect was a very narrow delicate band with band with tiny diamonds going around it and another with alternating diamonds and patterns. Very narrow like two mm with point two diamonds. I hoped to find something perhaps like a half eternity band but so far nothing has quite gone with my e-ring, because then the width has to match. Idealy I want something that can be worn alone, or with my e-ring, and of course I can wear my e-ring alone as well. Maybe I just need to try more stores.
sigh...

The ring I wear on my left hand I wear sans band. It is a substantial setting that looks best on its own, I think. Would you please refresh my memory as to what your e-ring looks like?

It''s an art deco engagement ring. OEC center stone baguettes and tint stones on the sides.

Here it is again next to a another old ring my step grandmother gave to me.

.....and on my finger. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos. My camera doesn''t take the best photos up close.

Oh wow, your ring is beautiful! I think that it could stand on its own, it is so gorgeous and unique. The other ring is lovely as well, I have my husband''s great-grandmother''s diamond ring, I love the fact that it has meaning.

If you really want a band to match, I think that maybe a thin band with alternating baguettes and small rbs or just baguettes would look nice. Nothing would sit flush, but that''s kind of overrated, imho. I wear a channel set band with the aforementioned ring, there is a small gap, but it looks very nice.

Thank you.

No, it''s true nothing will ever sit flush , it will have a small gap, which is okay. I wouldn''t want to wear them together all the time anyway.

I love having a ring that belonged to a family member too, especially since she''s no longer with us

She gave my mother a really pretty ring as well, a right hand ring from the 1950s.

P.S. I''d love to see your ring.

Great ring! By the way, you have really pretty hands...

Anyway, I see your dilemma with finding a band. Perhaps you could have one made? Are you planning to have the band attached to the e-ring, or do you want to leave them apart so you can take off the e-ring when you don''t want to wear it?

There are lots of ''mom and pop'' jewelers that will make you a custom band for next to nothing. Trying to find a band that will sit flush with that setting is going to be tough!

Good Luck!

Oh, Innerkitten, whenever I see your ring I sigh with pleasure.

If I were you, I''d get either a very slender, plain platinum band--that''s what my grandmother wore with her e-ring from the same era--or a slender band with horizontally set baguettes, as Mrs Fsk suggests.
