Anyone know where I can get a replica of Kate's sapphire necklace?

I hate to be another Kate copier but I just have to have it. I want one just like it. Even if it's not sapphire and diamonds. I know about the look-alike at NSC. I want to see if there are other ones like it.

Also, is that cabochon as rounded as it looks? The depth looks large.

And if anyone can tell, about how many mm would you say the sapphire is?

Thanks in advance!

It's a tiffany necklace...Elsa peretti. You should be able to find the specs.

The Elsa Peretti Color by the Yard Necklace -- with sapphire and diamonds -- which Tiffany is now showing:

But the consensus is that the center stone in Kate Middleton's necklace is a lapis lazuli cabochon, e.g.,

and that lapis Cabochon by the Yard is not listed among Tiffany's current offerings.

It's a sapphire. I checked it out several years ago when she first got engaged. I saw it on the site and the price turned me off. Looking back, I wish I got it. It seemed overpriced though.

Well, she was photographed wearing that necklace at a July 2008 wedding, more than 2 years before the engagement portraits,

so it's entirely possible that the oval lapis cabochon version had been discontinued by the time you scouted out Tiffany's website. But it makes no difference to me whether you opt for a faceted sapphire, a sapphire cabochon, or a lapis lazuli cabochon.

Have you ruled out the Natural Sapphire Company, sapphire necklace you posted in another thread earlier this week?

It looks like a sapphire to me. It was on the site for a few years. The NSC is really expensive, shoddily made, and the sapphire is fairly low quality. I can understand the sapphire being low quality, but the shoddy make is pretty bad. I mean, if I were to spend $1000, it might as well be the real thing (the real thing was 1k). Tiffany's, though overpriced, is really well crafted.

You'll sometimes see a preloved one for sale, but I'm not seeing any that had/have a posted price as low as $1000, e.g., $2295 (necklace is not available, has been sold)

But you could contact this merchant for the price of this one, if you're OK with a round faceted sapphire as the center station:

I imagine you'll think the stones in this are too small, but it's clearance-priced at $297:

(I've heard of Kobelli, but have no first-hand knowledge of the quality of this necklace.)

Very nice find!!! I've bought two necklaces from Kobelli before. Very pretty jewelry, even if tiny. The only problem is that the chains are very dainty. I don't know how they are with colored gemstones (I got two pendants with tiny diamonds) but I'll be watching this necklace. Thanks!
