My husband said that maybe you can still bring on water that you bought in the airport stores after clearing security, but I don''t know.

They must give you water once you''re up in the air, that would be crazy if they didn''t. Especially on longer flights. May not be the bottled water but water they pour in a cup?? Even on a short flight I need water. I drink water all day, and carry it with me where ever I go. And what if you need to take medicine?? You''d need water then.
oh yeah, this hasn''t changed. they will still offer water in flight, you just can''t bring on your own. that''s why it isn''t a *huge* deal except that i usually drink a lot of water (like..many offerings worth!) and would just rather bring my own. especially since i would rather drink gatorade or fuze or some other ''souped up'' drink that i bring along. again, it''s no biggie, just an inconvenience (until they start charging a pretty penny for that inflight water!)Date: 8/10/2006 9:06:59 PM

I''m not flying anywhere in the near future, though I''ll definitely think twice before booking a trip to London anytime soon.
My best friend''s mom and sister were on an international flight from Paris to Philly this morning, so she was more than a bit concerned as the news was breaking. Fortunately they made it back with no problems. Now she is actually flying out to LAX from Philly tonight, and as of 9pm her flight was nearly 4 hours delayed.
Other good friends of our family are vacationing in London right now, scheduled to fly back to Dulles on Saturday. We are praying all goes well for them... but like someone else said, it is likely to be even safer now than it was before. Still, that is small comfort for the people forced to endure a 10 hour flight across the Atlantic, wondering who their fellow passengers are.
I have been asked that question by a lot of people today since I just booked my ticket last night, but no I am not nervous. As others have stated...this is mostly for our protection and we just need to work with them :}Date: 8/10/2006 6:50:20 PM

Just curious if there are any nervous flyers that are more nervous now?
Has todays events made you feel worse or no difference.
I must say I ALWAYS travel with water. I can''t travel without fluids.....
I need it to take my drugs. LOL

I am sure you will be served beverages on the plane...always have been and I am sure even now they are making them even more accessible seeing as one can not bring their own. I am sure they will accommodate those they have inconvenienced :} Let''s give them credit ;} giggle..
Kaleigh...have safe and wonderful trip (hugs) and we will see yas when you get home. And maybe either you or IrishAngel can let us know about the fluids situation.

I understand the threats, but I think we''re over-reacting at this point.

I added an ETA to my post above, but just wanted to address the water issue... my friend just texted me from onboard a Southwest flight out of Philly (still on tarmac, 16th in line to take off and currently 6 hours delayed), and apparently passengers ARE being provided with water. She said the whole plane erupted in clapping and cheers when the announcement was made.

Also, the ''no electronics'' thing is bad too... no ipod, no laptop, no dvd player... while we may ''live through that'' who would honestly want to trust the baggage handlers with their laptop??? No thank you! And I can''t imagine all those poor kids and parents on the trans-atlantic flights with no way to entertain their kids... they weren''t allowed to bring any of the kids toys or anything... maybe my ADD is showing but UGH!!! I would be bored within 5 minutes!!!
Lisa, I hope you have wonderful time with your kids!

Where did you hear this? I haven''t heard anything about no electronics. Britain wasn''t allowing key fobs, but that''s about it.
