This OK ranger was in Arkansas and stumbled upon a 4.21 carat diamond at Crater of Diamonds State Park. But it didn't say if he got to keep it or not. It says it is the only place people can go looking??? Hmmmmm, anyone want to plan a road trip????????

ETA: Perhaps we can all take our BF searching for our stone here instead of paying for them we just have to pay to have them cut. Hehehe how romantic would that be?! A hike in the woods for your diamond!

The thing that cracked me up the most (I had seen this already) was that he was going to call it the Okie Dokie diamond.

I believe he''s from Oklahoma or something? And that''s why the name? But seriously!!!! I think he gets to keep it, no? They called it fancy yellow, and flawless. Was there a GIA grader on site or what?!

Just the context of the word flawless sounds suspicious to me, but perhaps it really is. I read it and immediately thought, what no specs? Oh you guys and gals at PS have definitely turned me!

Yes, you get to keep what you find. You pay a small entrance fee to go and hunt, whatever you find, you keep. The Joker posts here. His avatar is a fancy color diamond that he found there. Yummy

I''ve been there! I grew up not that far from it, but in Texas. It''s a fun little jaunt... with buckets and shovels... but the park has been picked pretty clean over the years. I suppose there are still a few to be found, and yes, you get to keep whatever you find!

The "Crater of Diamonds" was formed when a large meteorite hit the earth oh so many years ago... was really hot.... made diamonds.... there''s a great history to the park. And they have people there to identify what you find.... you don''t have to know what a diamond in the rough really looks like... they show you a film to help you.

I live in Arkansas and have never been there! There are actually a few places to go diamond hunting here --- if any of you seriously road trip, come visit me! :)
