Saw it last night, it was a good movie. Although, I realize that it is a general attack of mordern culture and some of it had me rolling my eyes. I am sure that 90% of the posters in this thread would think it was a Godsend. However, I would say this, I think to say that generalizing a political party is just as dangerous as deifying one. But I did enjoy it for the entertainment purposes.

for once i went on opening day in our area and, of course, i loved it. entertaining, a bit over the top with the obvious but certainly a condemnation of fascist government and acknoledgement of the power of the people.

I liked the movie because of the swashbuckling scenes and Natalie Portman being cool, honestly. Some of the political stuff was heavy handed....but it had an odd opposite effect on me of what I think was intended.
I ended up wondering if killing the people involved in the project like that was the "right" thing to do--leading to thinking about is the death penalty right, was it right for the Israelis to hunt down Nazi''s and kill them...when is justice just a vendetta?

INteresting thoughts rainbowtrout. I did find myself wondering it a little as well. I did so much enjoy it.

fun movies can get one to thinking........

along the same theme, did anyone see MUNICH?

gives rise to the same thoughts/questions.....

No MZ.. Haven''t seen that one... but I heard some people saying that it was pretty good. Sometimes though, I have a hard time dedicating myself to watching something too thought provoking.

Oh geez, I couldn't WAIT....for it to be over. I thought it was just plain ol horrible. Yikes!

And oh lord, they could have taken a 1/2 hour out of Munich. That too, I waited to be over....
I think I have pretty good taste in movies...but I just can't get on board those two

Yes, I saw it. I read the comic book about 10 years ago, pretty faithful (even with the visuals) except of course some parts were taken out. The role I enjoyed best was that of the cop who is investigating V, who first starts out just wanting to catch V but ends up an examining and questioning his own beliefs as time goes by.

I enjoyed it - it was okay. Having entered into politics, my wife and I had some intense discussions on government leaders and the public. I think that you can find great examples of abuse by those in power that needed to be taken down by the public - and also abuses by the public that need the government to step in.
