Anyone selling a e-ring type diamond ring?

I had linked my friend to forekitties A jaffe bezel set ring and he loved it-but it sold before he got the chance to even ask about it/buy it.

My buddy is looking to buy his gf an engagement ring this month (he gets his bonus mid-month) and I've looked on rubylane/diamondbistro/PS/ebay/etc and have found a few options for him but one is in need of a polishing for a chip repair (waiting for quotes for that to see if it's worth it) and Jon at GOG also has a few estate pieces in his price range not listed-so he'll be emailing those to us this week as well.

I know there are many PSers who have rings that no longer get worn-or were bought as project pieces and haven't happened yet.

He doesn't care about the shape or color as long as it's well cut and sparkles like crazy. Preference is white gold (but not a must) as well as ~.5 carat.

His budget is 1-2k but the closer to 1k the better but he's willing to pay more for the right ring.

So ladies-anyone have anything that might fit this description?

I've showed him all the ones on DB and nothing caught his eye. The oakgem one is nice-but I think it's a bit small and not quite the style he seems to steer towards.

What style, size, shape diamond is he looking to get? I have a ton of stuff but haven't had time to go thru it yet.
 
Does it have to be a diamond? I'm selilng a saphhire custom halo ering for $1100. It is a halo, all white gold with a square cut (with clipped corners) sapphire over 1ct. Just a thought. it is listed on LT. There is also a matching half eternity band so he could have the whole set for $1300.

Enerchi: I really appreicate the help :) I've spent hours on rubylane-ebay-diamondbistro-loupetroop-and all of the sites such as those looking for something *perfect* for him and have only found 2 contenders so far. We're hoping that Jonathan can pull something out of his case that fits the bill-I mean if he pulls it I know it's going to be a beauty. But I also know he'll get more bang for his buck getting something from a PSer and not something resale-even estate from GOG. But thanks so much for the help!

Taylorbug: Thanks so much for those links. I hadn't checked their site (I used to frequent it often) since I've emailed a few times over the years and never once gotten a reply and their pictures for whatever reason turn me off. That being said though nothing really *stuck* out at me to try and have him email them for either. But from personal experience I check my local jewelers estate site and his pictures remind me of those like NYE and the rings are much more beautiful in person (thankfully lol). So perhaps I'll have to take a better look at those again :)

ForeKitty: He's really open to any shape/style/cut but he wants something unique that isn't going to be seen everyday. But even if it's not that unique and the price is good and it's a beautiful cut and a stunner he's going to be open to it. He really really liked the A Jaffe ring but wasn't able to buy anything until a week and a half from now so he didn't bother emailing about it and then it sold. So if you think you have something that might fit the bill that would be great if you could take a peak :) I told him anything you'd pull out is going to be a nice piece since you have such a great eye for things. His gf is a very modest girl and super sweet and isn't into jewelery and so anything he gets her will sweep her off his feet. It's so nice to see him this way about someone (they've been together 2 or 3 years can't recall) since I've known him since HS and he's had 2 serious relationships prior to this one (first one was 4 years and the other was 3 or so) and he never talked marriage or anything like that about them-so I know if he's getting ready to pull the trigger he's found a keeper :appl:


Sarahbear: I've linked him to some nice sapphire rings and he hasn't said anything back about them-which makes me inclined to believe he wants a diamond. He also doesn't seem that interested in halos for some reason-although that's not to say he wouldn't get one for her if it was the right price and he really liked it-but they seem to be "trendy" where he lives currently and he tends to avoid anything like that. Your sapphire halo is beautiful and a great price and I've linked him to all the DB ads that were in his price range and the only one he linked back was the A. Jaffe bezel ring that Forekitty sold already. But thanks so much for the consideration!

My DB listing expired, but I can repost it if you are interested. The rings are size 6.5, 18K white gold. The engagement ring holds a 5.5mm stone, which is currently an aquamarine. I am willing to sell the engagement ring for $700 and the band for $900 or $1500 for both. The set is beautiful and very unique. I am happy to answer additional questions. Thanks!

But he is at 2k max for the entire set-so that would leave only 500.00 or so for a stone...which wouldn't fit into your setting lol.

I'm hunted ebay and set him a ton of links and linked him to some gabriel and Co settings in the 600.00 range and am hoping to find an OEC that fits the bill. So far there are a few contenders and hopefully he'll find a combo he likes. I'm trying to convince him to go with rose gold :naughty:

I've been considering selling my vintage 484 Van Craeynest ring along with the antique band that matches it pretty well. The diamond in the VC 484 ring is a 0.38ct but it faces up well for it's weight at 4.76mm. It's an AGS certified, ideal cut, J VS2. Both rings are a size 7.5 but I'm pretty sure they could be sized up or down easily. The metal is 14kt & 18kt yellow gold.

I've got the band listed alone for now on DiamondBistro here (the VC ring is in some of the photos) but would be willing to take $1650 + shipping for the set:

That is a beautiful set and a very good option :) I forward him the info-when I saw the band for sale I thought it would be a great option.

Right now he's found a Gabriel and Co setting that he really loves and Forekitty has a nice .78 OEC that he's really liking that would bring him to ~1700.00 or so for an e-ring. But he's still open to ideas so I sent him that bc you can't go wrong with Van Craeynest!
