I’m about to purchase this band from Blue Nile. I’ve never gotten anything from them before. Any reds flags you can see or words of advice? I did shop around to other vendors to see if I could find a similar but no luck.

Attaching the listing and a production photo (edit: this is not my exact ring just one that’s in production right now)

Thanks!

Absolutely beautiful, I think it would drive me crazy to have two different colors if they shifted on my finger

I absolutely love that ring! So unique and cool!

Does Blue Nilenmatch colored diamonds well?

So, was it all made of the same yellow gold, but only half of it dipped in Rhodium?

Or, is one side platinum or white gold?

This picture tells the story.
Look at where the colors meet on the back.
There is no joint/weld.

Hhmm so what are you saying? That it’s dipped on one side?

Edit…the listing says 18k yellow and white

Yup. That means 1 half is dipped in rhodium

Thanks Karl.

Yes, it's dipped on one side.
Technically speaking, the listing is true.
The whole ring was made with 18K yellow gold.
Then they dipped half of it in Rodium.
No false advertising here.
If the listing said 18K yellow gold and platinum you have some false advertising - and you'd see evidence where the two semi-circles were joined.

BTW 18K "white" gold is common and the alloy doesn't look terribly white so it's nearly always dipped in Rhodium to make it look whiter.
As the Rhodium wears off customers take it in for another dip in Rhodium.

well at least if you get tired of it you can remove the plating

Thank you! This is why I posted here….to get new perspectives that I hadn’t even known about or considered.
I do not like that it’s dipped. So this one is unfortunately off the list. So….I just ordered a cushion, light yellow diamond (my preference is less vivid) 5ct full eternity in 18k yellow gold. We’ll see what arrives! Fingers crossed it’s good. It’s a vendor I’ve never worked with before. There’s a decent return policy so I figured I’d give them a try.

Thank you all so much!!

JBG has a band you might be interested in….

You could check with them and see if they could make a similar band with yellow diamonds.
