I just have to rant here for a second. I just got back 2 days ago from a trip to Maui because bf's sister got married there (dating over a year less than us..go figure) and the weather was amazing! 80-90 degrees, sunny, sand in the toes, it was perfect.

Right now it's doing this sideways hail/snow thing...
It snowed in the lowlands up north earlier today. Seriously? It's April. I'm about ready to quit my job and move to Maui and sell macadamia nuts for a living.

Rant over :nono:

Sigh...

My husband and I got married on Maui in Dec. 2008 and it was perfect (very expensive, lol, but perfect). I have been longing to go back but it was so pricey that our return trip will have to wait until a big anniversary or something like that. I still dream about the frozen drinks from our hotel!

Your subject line and last sentence totally made me Laugh Out Loud at work!! Thanks for the Thursday pick-me-up!!

It's snowing here. Sideways. And every other direction. My office is in the corner and has windows all around...so basically I'm in a snowglobe.

Hi SC :wavey:

It is INSANE!!! It's just NOT right to get us all comfortable in 40/50 degree weather and then..... SNOW.... ICE...... ICK!!!!

And all this after the 5th wettest March ever.

The weather forecast through the weekend?.... RAIN.

Hope your're doing well (other than the depressing, never-ending misery that is life in the PNW at this time of year)

Tell me about it! Two weeks ago we had perfect sunny 70-75 degree weather. Then BAM! it snowed again! And it was cold and snowed enough that we got about an inch or two on the ground!

It was pretty hard to go from wearing capris and flip flops back to winter coats and layers all in within a matter of three days!!!

Can I make a quick joke???

I don't think I would have noticed that myself but since you mention it...

Talk in the house is that bf wants to go snowboarding this weekend. If that's the case, I would have gone surfing and snowboarding in the matter of a week.

I'm very bitter about the cold nasty weather here in WA. I already gave the go ahead that if bf ever gets the ability to transfer his position to HI, we're going. People talk about packing away their winter clothes or getting out their summer clothes, it's unfortunate because I've got to keep the stuff available year round! I could pack up heavy sweaters and coats for *maybe* 3 months out of the year, but that's hardly worth it!

We need some more engagements around here to give us something else to think about!

True! And sparklies to look at!

I've never bothered to switch clothes around for any seasons. Like you said... Just NOT worth it.
Especially since summer can get down to pretty cold too and those sweaters might be needed.

This awful back-and-forth is messing with my body... I'm cold. Doesn't matter what I'm wearing. It is 77 in my office and I've got on a long sleave shirt AND a fuzzy fleece jacket and I'm still cold. I seriously think that our bodies aren't designed to go from one to the other that quickly.

I remember a day back in 6th grade (7th?) where I showed up to school in jeans and a long sleave shirt with a jacket when everyone else was in short sleaves (and a few in shorts :o ). They thought I was crazy --- by the end of the day it was snowing  .

Same with tires.
We have Pirelli ice/snow tires on our car. All year. (they aren't studded and they are rated GREAT for wet pavement...)

We need the sun ;(

You are so lucky. My office is set up so if it goes over 70 degrees the A/C kicks on. My area is much colder though (our HVAC system sucks)...it's probably around 65. My hands hurt because they are so cold. Ugh.

Thank GOD we have an awesome espresso machine here so I can make vanilla lattes :)

Ugh, I lived in Maui for about a year--my sister has been living there about five--and I still think about moving back. It's so amazing. I'm from Los Angeles and though we have nice weather here, it just doesn't even come close to Maui. It truely is tropical paradise

The HVAC systems in the building were set up funny -- like the temerature in one of the offices in our suite was controlled my the thermostat 2 suites over  -- so it had been MISERABLY COLD in here (I have a laser thermometer and it was 56 degrees in here one day earlier this winter). It took me several years of complaining (and a new maintenance guy) before they could do anything for our area.

I'm still not sure if it is working right.... like right now I feel like there is cold air blowing somewhere. Not sure if it is me or the HVAC

The weather sucks... It seems that the least people could do is make sure everyone can have a comfortable (and warm!!) place to work.

Have you considered a space heater?
One of the guys has one of those stand up oil-heater things in his office and it really helps.
