Okay PSers, help me out here.

Months ago I asked a PS colored stone vendor/cutter about sourcing some stones for an aqua necklace similar to the one below. This is for my wedding (original photo is Tiff''s) and I wanted nicer cut stones. He''s finally come across some good aqua (yay!) and I basically have the following options:

1) do the design below with a 1 ct aqua (5x8mm approx) and similar weight square cut
2) buy a larger pear aqua he has available, ~2ct, (maybe 8x12 mm or so) and put it in a halo

Both options cost about the same for the aquas. Not sure how much the rest of the project (work + materials) would cost or if it''d be similar - would love opinions here.

So, my questions are:

I really like the first design and think its very original, but, is it TOO casual for my wedding? Will the stones be too small, and not have enough impact with my dress? Or will the second pear, along with the halo, just be way too big and overpowering (and not as unique of a design)? Help! I can''t decide.

One idea I have for the design of option 2 - not sure where this photo came from, may be another PSer''s..

aaaaandddddd.... the top of my dress, if that helps you decide =)

I like the original tiff''s design you posted. Hehe, I''m actually just wearing a very simple aqua briolette pendant which is very casual, so maybe I''m the wrong person to ask..

I like your option 2 picture, just one stone, main focus. The first one just me personally is that you have two very beautiful gem that seem to compete for attention. I don''t know I just like the look of #2

I like the 1st option best. Simple and understated. You''ll have a touch of color-and the aqua will look great on you w/your coloring!

I really love that Tiff''s design, too. I''m thinking of dreaming up a similar pendant myself..

I like design #1. It will always stand out from everyone else''s haloed pendants - simple, classy and versatile. If you want more of an impact, I''d go with the 2 ct pear and 2 ct square.

Okay,
I'm the only one that likes #2, and that's because it has a distinct Art Deco appeal, and I LOVE Art Deco anything (decoration, furniture, art, clothing, etc. . . . )

BTW, you make a lovely bride.

I like number 1. You will be a gorgeous bride.

I''m in the #2 catergory too so i''m voting again

I like number 1 more but not at the 1ct and smaller sized square (I think 2ct pear in this option if budget allows). If those are your only choices for size I would pick the 2ct pear and do 2.

Your dres is very classic and vintagey. I adore the Tiffany necklace. But feel it's a little contemporary and casual for the dress. And I'm not a fan of the second setting either.

How about a simple prong set round with attached to a simple aqua drop, also prong set. With aqua rounds in martini settings as earrings. With BGD earring jackets around them for bling at the ears.

My problem is that your dress, IMO, calls for something like these (I realize these are all out of budget) in style.

http://www.langantiques.com/category/90/4/item/90-1-1411/ with aquas and in white metal

http://www.langantiques.com/category/120/4/item/120-1-721/ white metal, aquas and nicer pearl for the drop.

http://www.langantiques.com/category/90/4/item/90-3-1175/ Hello lovely.

http://www.langantiques.com/category/90/4/item/90-1-1180/ stunning (though the stone is windowed)

http://www.langantiques.com/category/90/4/item/90-1-1434/ Trade that emerald out for an aqua and you are in business. Any shape aqua. Pear, cushion, emerald cut oval.

Something as simple as this (but nicer quality) would work for me as well. All white metal, and a aqua drop in the center: http://massimodiamonds.com/pearl/l_3322.jpg

ALTERNATELY if you do the Tiffany with bezels style. I''d add two rows of fine milgrain around each bezel to make it work with your gown.

It seems to me #1 would be a better choice. Your dress has quite a bit of embroidery on the upper part so I think something simple jewellery would suit it better. You also seem quite slim (assuming that''s you on the photo), so two smaller stones would probably be a better idea than one larger with a halo. You can also consider having the lower part of the pendant detachable, so that you can also wear either of the stones separately (if you wish to do so sometimes).

Hi Rockzilla,

You look gorgeous. I like the Tiffany design, but I think it looks too casual and contemporary, and a bit too long to go with your dress. The bodice of your dress has a scalloped lace edge and to me, it has an Edwardian feel to it, soft and elegant. The style of the second pendant would work, but I would make it shorter. I think something like the pink sappphire pendant necklace below would look really nice. It has a softer look than the pear shaped pendant you posted and it goes with the lace. You can substitute aqua for the pink sapphires. What earrings are you going to wear? Just an idea, I am seen some brides with strapless gowns leave the neck bare, but wear big chandelier earrings.

Gypsy-the 1st and 3rd ones you posted are fabulous!

I don''t think that #1 would be a good option with your wedding dress. I like #2 a little better, but have you measured to make sure that the pendant doesn''t sit on your dress but on your neck instead? Gypsy posted some real great necklaces.. could you use them for inspiration instead?

AN, as always has knock out taste in jewelry. (Saves picture to file).

I would like to put in a vote for no necklace. The dress doesn't need it at all. I personally would go with (and did) lovely earrings and leave the neck bare. And I'd add a lovely bracelet to the look. You have gorgeous shoulders and collarbone and the lace on that dress is to die for. It doesn't need anything more. I see you are wearing a pendant in that picture so yes, it can handle a pendant. But honestly, for me, unless it was the absolutely right neck piece it would detract, not add to the look.

I was ready to vote for #2, then I saw Art Neuvo''s pink necklace....but my final vote is for no necklace and beautiful earrings. The think the sparkly by your face will be lovely, the dress feels complete to me.

You are a knock out!!!!!

Rockzilla, I do not know what style earrings you like, but below is an example of a dangling earring that will go well with your strapless bridal gown. This one is made by Michael Beaudry. Cheaper versions of this type of earrings are available.

Yes! Yes! Yes! - I love those earrings. If there is time you could even work in some blue stones.

AN,
You’ve probably heard this a million times already, but you have excellent taste. I love that necklace and earring design.
