Are Shared Prong settings more durable than Pave?

Hi all,

I would like to know if shared prong settings are generally more durable than pave/micropave/fishtail pave settings. I really like the look of a center diamond with a row of small diamonds on the setting. Both a pave setting and a shared prong setting would achieve that look. However, because I am very new at all of this, I''d like to know which type of setting is more durable?

I have read quite a few threads where ladies have complained that stones had gotten knocked out of their pave or micropave settings, but I don''t think I''ve read anything about people losing stones from their shared prong settings. This leads me to believe that shared prong is more durable. Please correct me if I''m wrong. I really don''t want the emotional and mental stress of dealing with stones falling out of my ring that I''d want to wear 24/7!!

By the way, the settings I''m looking at are a couple of BGD settings:

BGD U Shape Half Eternity (Shared Prong):

BGD Fishtail Pave with Truth Head:

Thank you

How is your shared prong setting holding up? I just purchased one and have the same concerns.

Does anyone have thoughts about the durability of shared prongs. I love the scalloped detail

I purchased a scalloped ring and then compared it to another that does not have a hidden halo.
