The first one looks like a solid piece of crystal opal, possibly from Coober Pedy mine, based on the picture. The second may have natural black opal in them, but they look like triplets since there seems to be a quartz or glass layer on top. Black opal can be created by smoking light opal to turn it dark, or by putting a dark layer behind light opal.
Do you have a niece or younger sister who would enjoy the pieces?
Oh, I don't think they are small, I just know that young girls really like silver jewelry. They are pretty pieces and I personally think it would be more trouble than it's worth to try and sell them.Unfortunately no but maybe I could give them to a friends daughter. Yes but o believe they are ‘lab grown’ opals. They are really pretty though!
