Hi all, I am finding a diamond for engagement ring, would like to find one with the best quality possible (under the budget) and keep it for life. Are these 3 good quality? Wich one would you choose if so? Struggling to choose and need some professional opinion.

If you were just to choose 1 stone which one would you choose? Or none of them? I really cannot decide... Please help comment. Many thanks!!

Do you have photos or videos of the stones?

By the numbers, the first one would be my choice but we really need videos and pictures to tell what's going on.

Did you mean to use the word "investment" or are you just looking for an engagement ring diamond? We probably dont
need to go into detail that diamonds (that most of us can afford) are not good investments...or do you want to know more?

From the certificate does look like first one is better. I am still waiting the video link, and now I only have Video taken by iPhone. How does that look now? I am just concerned that it’s a 2year old stone why would it be in the market, is there some problem with the stone?

For investment I mean I want to keep a stone that has its unique value even after years. I have bought a stone that looked awful and get refunded before. So now am being more selective and want to only get good quality stones so at least it doesn’t depreciate in value?

Diamonds won't hold value in the sense that you wouldn't be able to resell it for the same price you bought it for. Think about diamonds like cars in that way.

Hello, Sophy!
Agree with the others: the first one has the best proportions and angles for boosting light return and optical performance.
The cut quality looks to be pretty darned good in the video.
Another video that I found for it:

If you want the best quality, can we suggest looking into alternatives?

Budget, size, color, clarity?

Diamonds will never hold value (possibly, if they are extremely rare material or a coveted antique cut). A well cut diamond makes it look much better than an average cut diamond. So start there. Let the people help you identify a well cut diamond. Good luck!

If you want the best quality, I would get one of these.

Relaxing the color to E can save some money.

Does the first stone look like to have brown shade?

Looking for D VVS2 non, budget <$12000 any good stones recommended

What size?

And does it need to specifically be VVS? a VS2 will be eye clean almost all of the time

These are within budget and amazing

Thanks for recommending! The GIA D VVS2 looks amazing, but it got fluorescence:(

Either of these ACA picks should be put on hold/reserve so that you can ask WF for comparison videos and pictures.
VS1 with no clarity based clouds or graining is going to have inclusions near the microscopic level that will require magnification to see, let alone find.

This one would be the best bet for you then!

I wouldn't be concerned about the faint fluorescence in the GIA D VVS2. None of them have a brown shade to my eyes.

Sorry I should have made it clearer, does this stone appears to have brown/green?

My vote is no, but you can always ask the jeweler if it is positive for BGM.

Faint flour won't impact anything visually, just FYI

Not sure if I am right, but if I am paying the same price, I prefer one that is still ideal cut with no flour than the one that is perfect cut with faint flour. I know visually the latter definitely looks better, I am more concerned about the diamond value still.

Not to expect it will sky rocket in value but as least retain to certain extent…

Of course it's up to you, but faint vs no fluor really isn't going to make much of a difference in value. Neither will be an investment.

I am worried you are paying for characteristics that don’t actually affect value retention over time.
