Forgive me. I wanted to get your attention.
I grew up in the 1950s and 1960s and remember President Kennedy. I remember when he formed The Peace Corps and I remember all his family members, half of whom seemed to have served in his administration. (When he was accused of nepotism for appointing his younger brother, Bobby, as Attorney General he quipped that he wanted to give him some experience before he had to go out and pracice law.)
His brother-in-law, Sargent Shriver, was the first director of The Peace Corps. Sargent Shriver is Maria Shriver's father and, thus, Arnold Schwarzenegger's father-in-law.
There was a tribute to him by my favorite columnist, Bob Herbert, in today's "The New York Times". I thought it was well worth sharing.
