It KILLS me that this setting didn't work out for my new OEC. I LOVE IT!! Unfortunately it was just a tiny bit too big as it's really intended for an 11mm stone. It's GORGEOUS! This 8 prong platinum setting features beautiful geometric cut outs in the gallery. There are two old european cut diamonds on each side totaling about 10 points. They're tiny, but white, sparkly and very chunky. Currently size 6, but sizing up or down shouldn't be any problem. This is really my dream setting. Did I mention how sad I am it doesn't work my stone!!! Price is $2,295. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!

Oh man, I would be all over it if it fit a 10mm stone. :(

Any change we can see your new beauty? Just one teaser pic?

My stone is also 10mm and the setting was adjusted by the original seller to fit my stone, so technically it does fit a 10mm stone. The problem for me was that there was a thin metal lip around the stone that I didn't care for in part because I didn't want the stone size accentuated further (10mm is just a tad over my comfort zone). Grace suggested having it milgrained or scalloped and I was almost going to go that route until I found another vintage setting that worked. First pic is my stone loose. Second is the stone sitting in the mounting where you can see the metal surrounding it. I'd be happy for you take a look at it if you like -- you can return if it doesn't work for you.

This is the sort of detailing I would have done around the metal lip.

This mounting is still available. It's such a beauty I'm thinking of having an exact replica made. Still crying my eyes out that my stone is just a smidge too small!!!

Demelza, I saw Grace two weekends ago and looked at this setting... it's just stunning! Unfortunately, my diamond averages 9.9mm so it's even smaller than yours, and I really don't like seeing a metal lip around it. I wish my diamond was big enough to fit! :(

Beautiful setting Demelza! I hope it finds a buyer soon who will love and enjoy it. :appl:

Yes, I know what you mean about the metal lip. I keep thinking there has to be some way around it. I'll never get an 11mm stone, so best to just let it go :(

Thanks, Missy! I hope so, too!

Just bumping to say this gorgeous setting is still available! Anyone with a big honker, this is an amazing antique setting! One of my favorites ever!! Please contact Grace at Jewels by Grace if interested. Thanks!

Another bump for this beautiful setting. It is still with Grace at Jewels by Grace listed for $2495. I am very motivated to sell and will accept HALF OFF the list price! Please post here or contact Grace if interested. Thanks!

@missy I just thought of your beautiful diamond. I’m not sure if this fits to Bubbalah (I hope I didn’t misspell) or if you still are looking for a different setting?

Aww thank you @Lessics that is very kind of you to think of me and you are right. This is right up my alley. But LOL I already tried it last year and it was too shallow a setting for Bubbalah. It is a beautiful setting however and I hope @Demelza finds a buyer for this lovely antique setting. If it had fit Bubbalah it would have been hers.

I hope it fits someone's dream stone because it is too lovely to sit empty.

And you spelt Bubbalah exactly right!

Such a bummer it didn't work out for my stone or your stone! It is seriously my favorite setting ever!

Yes! I believe it would. Grace says on her website that it fits 10.10-10.20 mm stones, but I actually think a bit bigger is better. I think the only way to know for sure is to try it, but I think there's a good chance! Please let me know you if you have any other questions!
Thanks! Any idea what maximum depth it will accommodate?

I'm not sure. That would be a question for Grace. My stone had a depth of 6.12mm and the setting accommodated that just fine.
