I'm looking at an AGS SI1-F-0 stone that is 60.5 depth and 59 table with 40.6 pavillion angle and a 34.8 crown angle. I'm looking for something that leans a towards fire. The ASET Light report on this stone looks great with well defined arrows and is bright red except for a green center. I've heard that although it's technically better to have a red center,
a stone can still perform very well like this. What does everyone think?
The stone I'm comparing it with is a GIA-SI1-E-EX-EX-EX stone that is 62.1/56 with 40.6/36 degrees pavilion to crown angles.
I'm guessing that the second one will have more fire because of the 36 deg. crown but it's depth is a little more then I would like at 62.1. Also I have no ASET on the GIA stone, but from the HCA and the angles I think it should perform reasonably well.
Thoughts?
