Average height of a 3 stone ring?

Hey All…

I’m in the process of having a 3 Stone Diamond ring made… it’s a 3.02 Pear, with .30 pears onthe sides. Based on my CAD it looks like the height from finger for the center stone is 5.7… does that seem low to you?

My last ring was a solitaire and it was 7.8… I understand the depth is different in a round vs a Pear, but I plan to wear this with my band that is 3.15 mm high… my jeweler said he took that into consideration, but I don’t know why 5.7 seems low? Anyone have any pics to share with similar height measurements? TY!
 
My three stone is with OMCs my center 2.76 so a different shape but the height on mine is 6.26 which feels low profile to me. I have no experience with a pear though but maybe a bit helpful to see even though it’s a different shape.

I know it will add time to the process but I would ask for a wax. It will save you from future headaches.

When I reset my emerald cut, I luckily got a wax I didn't like the angle of the traps so I had them angled up for more finger coverage.

FWIW, I just measured the height of my three stone and it's 5.8 mm. I like the height a lot, actually. Not too high and not too long.

Something I did when I was designing my five stone ring is I searched here on PS for CADs and that was super helpful seeing various design elements.

That’s exactly what I tried to do here too, I’m not having much luck in my CAD search… so will try again!

Hi,

I have finally taken a (big) step in designing my engagement ring. I have received the below CAD and I think after a few hopefully minor tweaks it will be perfect. I wanted to ask you if there is anything I should look out for? Is the setting too high/low? I want to make sure that the e-ring sits flush with my wedding band.

My middle stone will be a champagne coloured diamond with two traps that are white diamonds. David suggested to go with rose gold for the middle stone which Im sure will look fab and will emphasise its beautiful warmth.


I also wanted to check if further side...

Thread 'OEC three stone CAD'

It took a bit longer than expected, but I received CADs from OWD today!
Adam is using his crown 8 and crown 6 design. I love this antique ring (sold Erstwhile).

I've already asked for the side stone baskets to be scaled down appropriately to allow them to tuck under the center a bit.
And concerned that the prongs are noticeably beefier at the stone's girdle than the antique one.
I think the center stone donut /bottom of basket needs to be pinched in as well. And I'm not certain the CAD shown is scaled to my stones, the more I look at it.
Any thoughts? Am I going...

Attached are photos I received for 3 stone ring. Center stone is 2.76 omc and side stones are 1.2 ctw omcs.

I see a few issues but I’ve never made a custom ring so I’d love some insight. Here are my thoughts:

The ring seems a bit heavy to me. I think it is the double basket/swoop (not sure what to call that) and perhaps the shoulders? I made a very basic edit on my iPhone to compare other options, the photo that has three comparisons, top is original, middle no shoulders, bottom no shoulders and no double basket. But my thought is the double basket adds security…especially without...
