I finally had a job interview that went really well and I LOVED

the job that it''s for! It''s a temp to perm marketing positionwith a newspaper and the salary is within the range that I was looking for! I think the interviewer really liked me and he said that I would hear by Tuesday at the earliest.

I really feel like I was meant to turn down the last job because this job was coming.

I''ve been job searching since the beginning of June when I quit my awful job that was stressing me out to the point of tears/nervous breakdowns almost nightly and moved out to Ohio to be with FI.

I''ve been covering my expenses like my old rent (I couldn''t get out of the lease) and my health insurance (continued on a COBRA from the awful job) with the money that I saved while I was working. I hate watching my savings deplete like this since it''s the first time I''ve ever had a real savings account. FI has been paying for pretty much everything else. He covers the rent here, the groceries, the utilities, and pretty much any time we go out to do something. I''ve felt so guilty not being able to contribute like I did before I quit, but he swears that he loves taking care of me like this, and I have been having fun taking care of him by doing the laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning. Being a housewife this summer has been fun, but I really want to be able to contribute some earnings to this relationship, especially with the wedding coming up. It would be great to be able to contribute to the wedding and we''ll definitely be able to take a nicer honeymoon. I also want to get FI his engagement present soooo bad. I''m not sure yet if it''s going to be the PS3 or the big screen tv he really wants. I think we''ll probably end up getting both eventually.

So, everyone send out "get the job" vibes for me and keep your fingers crossed!

I''m sending them your way, gal!

Although I do think that you control your destiny, everything DOES happen for a reason. You turning down that other job certainly set the stage for this one. I doubt that you were as excited about that one as you are about this NEW opportunity.

If you really want it, then don''t let it get away. I would follow up before Tuesday so that the interviewer knows that you are serious and you want the job. Having hiring a few people during my career, I can tell you that it''s those little things that really made a candidate stand out from the others.

GOOD LUCK!!

GOOD LUCK ROBBIE! I''m sending a prayer and good vibes out your way!

wishing you lots and lots of luck...

I HAVE A SECOND INTERVIEW!!!

The temp agency just called me and said that the guy I interviewed with along with the General Manager of the paper want to meet with me over lunch for a second interview on Friday!!! She said that this pretty much means that I have the job and could be starting on Monday! I''m so excited, but a bit nervous about having an interview over lunch. I''ll have to concentrate very hard on using proper table manners.

So, if I do get the job, I''ll be temp for 90 days, and then assuming that I pass this test I have to take (it''s supposed to be easy) and do the job well, I''ll have a full time job!

Thanks so much everyone for sending out good vibes!

YAY!!!

Don''t order pasta! and be nice to the server! (not that you wouldn''t anyway...) I''m betting this is more of a "getting to know you" interview, not a "what are her table manners like?" interview but sometimes people watch closely. My mom is in HR and one thing she looks for is "Does he sweeten his tea/coffee or salt/pepper his food before tasting?" Seems simple but she says it means "they might make decisions without all necessary information." It may be a habit to put sweetener in your iced tea before drinking it, but taste it first...

I''ve actually heard that before, but I''d forgotten it! Thanks for reminding me. I sometimes salt my food before tasting. I''ll have to watch out for that one. Are there any other weird interview things like that that I should be aware of?
